Govee LED RGB Waterproof Strip Lights (32.8ft)

I've installed two of these around the home and another at a friend's house: the picture included shows this product under the cabinets in the background (I needed the two outputs to run the strip in two directions from my microwave). The lights under the bar in the foreground are the DreamColor ones that I configured with a slow-breathing rainbow that cycles around the bar.My favorite thing about these strips is they just plain work. In the process of installation, there's usually some cutting and jumpering and some tricky work to figure out how to hide the cables and controllers. Given all that, the last thing you want to deal with is a problem with the lights themselves. These guys don't do that: they get on the network, the Android app works flawlessly, and they talk to Alexa every time. Having used a lot of different home automation-friendly gear, I really dig Govee's Android app. It's stable, fast, and it was professionally translated, unlike many others.There are some limits to what you can do with Alexa, which is not really Govee's fault, since they are constrained by Amazon's API. They do help that pain by remembering the last configuration, so if you dial in some crazy progression that Alexa can't do, you can still use her to turn it on and off and adjust brightness - the light will come back the way you left it.I can't fully rate the adhesive because they've only been up a few months, but everything else is solid. And, honestly, if the adhesive starts to fail, that's a trivial fix with cable clips that you should already have, anyway.

Just got them up. Lights are bright and beautiful. Super sound sensitive, light tap on the bed and mic picked it up on the other side. Adhesive when I first started peeling it came off with the paper so none was left on light strip. I got it pressed back down on the light strip. I think warming it up with your fingers first before starting the first peel off would help. So far everything is stuck to the wall fine. I got a 32ft and 16ft each has their own code so when you enter them in the app it’s separate. These run off Bluetooth and apparently you can’t put them in “groups” only WiFi ones can. Close as I could get to figuring out to synchronize patterns is set a timer on them. FYI even the WiFi groups will only allow to turn an/off and solid colors, no patterns. Now that they’re all up and dancing colors you can’t tell anyway.

Do not even waste your time! This product is not even worth rating. BUYER BEWARE this product is not water proof and or water resistant. Had outside on my patio for 2 weeks and then half of one strip stopped working. I contacted the manufacturer via email and told them my problem and they said to send them pictures i sent pictures. Then they said they needed more pictures i sent more pictures. Then they came back with a general response in the tech support field and asked me if i had everything plugged in correclty. I said i did. then they asked me to send a video.This is where i gave up because my other strip just stopped working. So of the 32 feet of lights i had i have 8 feet that works.

The lights appear great, bright, features, easy install. Till you get to the wifi connect portion. I have Orbi mesh router with 2.4 and 5ghz in one unit. Every device IOT requiring 2.4 only has connected without issue till these lights. No real support from Govee as they state 5GHZ to strong so the unit will disconnect. I wish it would disconnecf as the device will not connect. Netgear support answered and stated that Govee is not handling the handoff to wifi correctly in their app. Govee states to connect via Hotspot which defeats the purpose of being on my wifi. As router tech changes and moves more to mesh 5ghz and AX (wifi 6) Govee needs to rethink the product and application. *** Update.. Govee offered a full refund on July 3rd and had me provide the Amazon order numbers. Today July 6th at 1130PM they responded with additional troubleshooting steps vs the full refund.Updated: Govee has refunded me for the product and I've changed the review to better reflect the current state. Still no 5ghz support only 2.4ghz, this means mesh systems will not work. The other gotcha is not all functionality is present when using the wireless connectivity. Validated by connecting unit to the 2.4ghz hotspot on my phone and checking features between Bluetooth and wireless. You can turn the lights on and off via Alexa, change colors but not schemes. Many special actions are only available via Bluetooth. Really wish Govee would provide the full details of their product vs the teaser of Alexa and wireless connectivity. Disaster states only 2.4ghz which Mesh supports, and Alexa enabled but not all features are supported. Which ones?Great Light set but be catious to know what the item will actually do.

These are easily the best LED strips I have ever purchased and I have purchased a good handful over the years as I design and upgrade my studios. Here are the ONLY reasons I didn’t give these lights a 5/5 despite their overall excellence:- The app that controls the lights on your phone could definitely use some updates. There are things I can do with the lights individually (like have them strobe or react to music) that I can’t have if I group them together despite them being the same light strips.- One LED strip I had ordered is a bit off when it comes to color matching with my other Govee strips. This is especially noticeable when it comes to softer colors like green, yellow, and on the spectrum of orange. It is a noticeable difference however you can’t tell if you use darker and more saturated colors like deep red or deep blue.- Speaking of color matching, at least through the app, the preset colors are not accurate. If I select yellow, I get a yellowish lime green. If I select orange I just get a darker version of that. This wouldn’t be a big deal if I could delete these color palettes and save a few of my own as it is possible (with a little tinkering) to achieve these colors. But the presets are not accurate and there is no way to save your own presets.- In addition, the color wheel itself on the app is a bit off. If I have the wheel on the deepest red possible it’ll give me a magenta/pink light. As a matter of fact, I don’t think it’s possible to get a true red on the color wheel as I am trying to replicate the color red on the app’s color wheel while I’m writing this review to no avail.They are great lights, but for the state of the app and color matching issues? There are possibly better light strips available. However, I still REALLY enjoy these!
