Scotch Mounting, Fastening & Surface Protection 3M Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape, 1 by 60-Inch, Black (414P)

This is the second time I have bought this double sided tape. It is definitely heavy duty and sticks extremely well. It is the same type of tape used on car exteriors to attach door protectors and spoilers. It is a rubbery center which allows you to stretch it rather thin if you want without losing its adhesive property. It is not that easy to remove so I would recommend it as a permanent tape. It is resistant to water and dust/dirt. A good product to have on hand. You do not need to use much so 1 roll should last you a while fir home and car use. Much better product than other similar tapes which have a sponge center which is prone to water and dust and eventually loses its adhesicpve strength even when stored as a roll. This brand does not do this due to the strong adhesive and rubber center which is resistant to the environment regardless how long you have the roll.

I also did not want to drill holes into the walls or attach anything that could never be removed. Especially since this is a rental house. So when I saw this tape I had to get it!! The tape is rated to hold up to 10 pounds and it hold true to itself. The tape is extremely easy to use and hold very well!! The only downside is trying to peel it off. Be best way to remove the tape is to use a heat gun or a hair dryer on really high and that usually makes it really easy to peel Other than that you might need a razor blade!!!! This tape is great. It sticks, holds even comes off when needed. It will get most jobs done, 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars if it got all jobs done. Maybe the next version of this tape will do that. I found a few things it would not stick to well certain dash board plastics for example. Until I find something better, I will continue to buy this tape. I always have some around just in case I need double sided tape that really holds. I think you will like this tape. Especially if you have tried every other double sided tape and they all failed. Most are light duty made for attaching light things like a picture frame to a wall for example. this tape is made to hold much heavier items. If you have something that your using double sided tape on and your constantly reapplying the tape, try this tape, it works!

Used this tape to mount a heavy chromed brass hand held shower head holder to the shower wall. The holder was intended to be attached to the wall with 3 screws. Seeing as I didn't want to drill holes in the tile to mount it, Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape is used instead. About 2 square inches of tape were used. Pressed it to a cleaned glossy flat title, let it sit for an hour or so, then installed the trim ring and hung the shower head. The shower head and mount probably weighs a pound or so. Tested it by trying to pull it off the tile, but stopped because I was afraid the tile was going to pull off the wall. It is sticking that well. So far, the high humidity conditions in the shower stall are not affecting it. I have used this mounting tape outdoors and it didn't fail even after 8 years or so.

I really like this tape. I have bought it in the past and has really held. I used it on the mosquito netting on the outside of my sliding doors. Granted, netting isn't very heavy, but there's a of traffic going in and out putting pressure on the sides I have tapped for a snug fit. After, 5 moths it's holding has good as the day I put it up. I can into the entry way once and cracked an ankle when I slipped on the rug/throw I had down. So I tapped it and it has with stood a lot of traffic/vacuuming for two years before it became a little loose and I replaced it. I have used it at my deer lease but for the life of me I can't remember what it was, but if it had failed I could tell you what it was. Great Tape....

After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to purchase this tape for its claimed durability for the outdoors. I'm in Atlanta and needed it for in my garage. It's not bad, however; if you live somewhere where it is warmer than 90 degrees, it doesn't hold. Its good for the first day but then starts to detach. I understand that it's hard to have a tape that works well in outdoor settings in the warmth, but it is listed as an "Extreme" tape for "Outdoor".

This tape is a miracle! I have it mounting two gazing balls on stands on the top of my deck. Sturdy and reliable!!! The tape has now went through all 4 seasons here heavy storms etc and is still as secure as the first application. Trying it for solar motion lights next!

I was reattaching the foam rubber sound deadening piece to the plastic panels on my SxS and needed a good quality tape. After checking the 3M website I settled on this tape. It was easy to work with and I was able to get the foam stuck on exactly where I needed it. I did have to wash the foam rubber first, as the first piece there was apparently dust in/on it and the dust made the tape not so sticky. That was my fault and after I had clean foam rubber this was awesome!

The tape is great. Only issue that the roll itself also sticks almost everywhere when placed.

3M. Extreme tape. This is the Tim Allen of double sided tape. For those who don't know what I'm saying... It will build your manlihood. Yes get it.

This did nothing it claimed to do. It adhered to no surfaces and therefore took no weight. Useless and less effective than ordinary double-sided tape
