As packaged, is this float fairly small and lightweight? Looking for a pool float to pack for a plane trip.

Not crazy small, but definitely lightweight. As packaged, if you don't open it, it might be small enough if you are packing light. You might prefer to get one of the mesh pool floats that only have the inflatable plastic around the edges and for the pillow. They'd take up less space in a suitcase. We have two of the mesh ones and if I had to pack one, it would be the mesh float.

Once fully inflated, how thick is it?

Bout 6"-8" thick when fully inflated.

Will this float hold the air? I bought another one from Intex and it did not stay inflated...

Ours stays inflated. We like it. Just note, the pic shows 2 rafts ... there is actually only 1 included.

I know the colors may vary, but if I want to buy the blue one and not the pink its possible??

That's not true... I've tried multiple times to get a pink one but keep getting blue... I found a customer service number & they don't know what customer service is nor can they help you... I got told to contact Amazon & then Amazon told me to contact the seller... it was a huge fiasco & headache... so now I have 3 blue floats... An Amazon supervisor even tried emailing this company to request the pink or purple one... Still got the blue one...
