This is a large cooler. We purchased it to bring food to the beach on a 7 hour car ride for 2 families. After some trial and error before we left, I realized this cooler needs a ton of ice if it's not properly filled. I didn't want to use ice cubes that would melt quickly as we would mostly have food in it. In the end, I made large blocks of ice in our freezer that we lined the bottom of the cooler with. This seemed to work best and the blocks lasted several days. Be gentle with the cooler and as stated in other reviews the hinges and handles are plastic. Dont lift the filled cooler by the handles as it doesn't seem sturdy enough to support such weight. We just use those when its mostly empty.

Excellent cooler, for the price Amazon pushes them ($65 in 2020).Basic features (two handles, two hinges, pressure fit lid), but excellent and sturdy design.It's not watertight, but you can make it watertight with some gaskets or a bead of silicone on the lid.The label on it says Xtreme 6, not Xtreme 5. Supposedly it can hold ice for 6 days. I didn't test this claim. Because I am not really sure how that's tested. Do they fill the whole cooler to the brim with ice, and then in 90 degree weather SOME ice remains inside after 6 days? Or all ice remains? Probably something in-between.Very happy with this purchase.
