Strathmore Sketch Pad 2 Pack White

Q: Is this paper the right size for portrait drawings?

The paper at 11 x 14 is big enough. It's not a very heavy paper but good for sketching...not much else. Colored pencils will work on it

Q: What is the difference between Strathmore's 400 series smooth surface and the 400 series fine tooth surface sketchbooks?

Just like it sounds. I recommend the fine tooth for sketching and the fine tooth if you want to do fine pen & ink work

Q: Is this sketchbook have plated (smooth) type of paper, like those papers you use for the printer?

It is 60 pound paper and lightly textured, so it isn't smooth like copy paper. There are 100 sheets. This is good for quick sketches, not fine art.

Q: Can i paint on the pages?

Don't know. Bought it as a present for someone. Myself, for sketching/watercolour outdoors I use Moleskine watercolour pads. A little pricey but robust. Cheers. SP(NZ)
