Academy U.S. 2.5 Ton Cargo Truck and Accessories

First things first: This is a great model. It looks great assembled, takes paint well, and has an amazing level of detail. The inclusion of extra boxes, barrels and in particular the machine guns, takes it into 5 star territory.Now, the down side. Academy models are VERY complicated, with a lot of fiddly small parts that have very precise locations. It doesn't help that the plastic is a bit on the fragile side. This accidentally was one of the very first sets I purchased when I was starting into modelling, and I will admit it gave me fits at times.If you are experienced and need a truck like this, don't hesitate. It's a little spendy, but I feel the inclusion of the extra equipment makes up for its complexity and fragility. If you are new to the hobby, expect to take a lot of extra time with this model to get it right. It isn't the nightmare that the Revell 1:72 HMMWV TOW & Ambulance set was.

Standard Academy kit. No much to say. But the delivery went to the neighbors house, good thing it wasn't the butt plug I ordered. Don't want them to think I'm some kinda weirdo!

I have purchased this U.S. Army 2.5 Ton Truck kit before and what I really like about is everything you get with it. As for the truck cab and chassis I plan on making a U.S. Army Brockman Crane out of it. I realize that this is only a 2.5 ton vehicle and the Brockman's are made from 5 ton vehicle frames but I will do my best to keep it looking like a Brockman. As for all the additional accessories I plan on using them in a diorama I am doing pertaining to the Berlin Airlift. The accessories are perfect for that. So, this truck will actually end up being in two dioramas.

I like that the seller ships fast.Turn light, I’m using this product as part of a World War II diorama involving an LST and these trucks are part of the cargo on their way to Normandy.

Really hard to put together really small and fragile broke the steering wheel just cutting out. Pain to cut the hole for the gun out

Great kit; quite nicely detailed.

Haven't built mine yet, but it's a nice model involving small parts, so - have fun and be patience, tweezers, and in my case magnifying glass are needed. But if you're a modeler, it's a nice kit with accessories for dioramas.

I ordered this for my son expecting an army vehicle. No where in the product description did it say that this is a model vehicle, and a poorly constructed one at that. Once we got over our disappointment that the product wasn't what we thought it to be, we set about putting it together. The pieces are by far too small, it is very hard for adult hands to handle and.assemble. all the pieces are the same color, so the finished product lacks.dimension or realism. No stickers for decoration either. After about 4 hours and only having a few pieces of the hood assembled, we made the decision to throw away and go buy another, more kid friendly model. I would not recommend anyone to purchase this product unless it is your exact desire.
