The quality of Moonshine Fly Rods are beyond expectations. I bought a Vesper 4wt 9’ rod and what a rod it is. It is super light (2.7 oz) and looks beautiful. When I first placed the order I went through Amazon. Although the rod was not damaged, the rod case was torn open on one end. Since the box showed no signs of damage, I have to believe someone at amazing was careless. Nonetheless, I emailed Moonshine and they told me to return it to Amazon for a refund. I made the next purchase directly from Moonshine. Dakota not only answered several of my questions, she helped me make a final decision on the Vesper. By buying directly from the company I also received a 10% LEO/Military/First Responder discount on the rod. I received the same discount when I added the Ross Reel Colorado to the order. There is an additional 10% off when you buy a reel with the rod. Great savings on an already great price. And shipping is free.The Colorado model Ross Reel is a classic reel redesigned with modern materials. Gorgeous reel and really like weight. Perfect match with the lightweight Vesper rod. Thank you Moonshine.As an update to my review, I felt the platinum color of the Ross Reel was not a good look with the darker color of the Vesper Rod. Personal preference since the platinum color is still a great look. Nonetheless, I asked Moonshine if I could exchange the platinum color reel for the Black color. A simple email to customer service and within an hour of me making the request I received a notice that my reel was on its way. I cannot say enough about this company. Quality product at a great price. You will pay $900 or more for a rod elsewhere and not get better quality.

Fit finish and detail are superbly crafted into the Vesper series by Moonshine. This is my second in the series and everyone who throws them is very impressed with the feel, power and accuracy. Couldn't be more pleased. Just wish I needed more fly rods. The quality for the price is amazing. I've used $998 dollar rods that were not as nice looking or feeling.

This is all you can want from a Euro Nymphing rod. Having tried most of the nymphing rods, this is by far the best value for money. As you are fishing with very light rods you mustn’t be afraid to fight those trouts pretty hard and I know I wouldn’t with a $1.000 rod.I coupled it with a Flylab Focus nymphing reel and the balance is absolutely perfect!Can’t recommend this combination enough!The perfect Euro Nymphing outfit for a (still) reasonable price!

I've been a two piece Sage guy forever. I needed a 4 piece travel rod to go back to my home state of Montana to fish. My first day with this rod was on the Yellowstone river, which is always a tall order for any 5 wt rod. Even with a breeze blowing, this rod really performed well. The weight to stiffness ratio is what impressed me most. It casted and caught cut throats like a breeze. It's next test was float tubing on a lake near the Big Horn mountains in Wyoming catching heavy aggressive rainbows. You're not going to find a better rod for the money. Very happy that I took a chance on this company.

Where to begin? From the first cast you could tell this stick was crafted with care and focus. It's not only beautiful but provides the ideal sensitivity and fun you are looking for. Comparing the feel of the cast vs. my others I couldn't put it down. My first trip with it and did well with the browns on the creek and this rod rocked the lake as well. It may be a euro rod but this puppy works no matter what application (Euro, Traditional, stripping buggers, etc...) I caught some nice bows on the lake too. If you have this in your list just do yourself a favor and get it!! No Disappointments.Side note: The customer service is above stellar. And shout out to Nick. I'm officially a Moonshine fan!

I received the 6wt Moonshine Vesper 9' fly rod for Christmas and used it on the Big Hole River and the Clark Fork River in Montana. An excellent fly rod --- plenty of power in the wind and made great presentations. My lodge mates noted how well balanced and light it felt in the hand and yet delivered all the power of heavier rods. The components are beautiful and this is my new favorite 6 wt fly rod.

Great value. I have Sage, and other "premire" names. The Moon Shine is a quality rod, and saving a buck, Microc-graphic material and a fast rod for dries and you can lob streamers with confidence. Look for a Moon Shine rod 1/2 the price L-Goonie, Sage, Hardy, etc. You'll pleasant. Tight lines
