Dog steps
Have four small dogs that needed help getting on the bed. These worked great for them but the pups can get a bit rowdy and it is light weight and they tend to knock it over sometimes.

Great for teeny-tiny dogs!
Sadly,I had to returned the 4 tier dog steps. I have a tiny Yorkie & a tiny Chihuahua (under 5 lbs.) & was tired of picking them both up 10 times a night, to get on/off our high king size bed. I bought the 4 tier, rounded, foam, suede stairs although our bed is 27" off the ground. I knew they might not like going "UP" the stairs, but figured we could teach them both up & down......in time~Problem is, the frame of our bed juts out beyond the mattress, enough to cause a gaping 4" space, whereby our tiny dogs could fall through:( So I cleaverly (I thought..) inserted a towel between the space. Still, there was too much of a height deficit between the top step & the top of our mattress.Even though it didn't work out for me, I've read many reviews on this product & feel this item needs positive input, as I think it will work well on dogs under 10 lbs., and taught early on, how to navigate these steps. Attractive, pretty sturdy, nice rounded edges for little ones. I think cost-wise it was somewhat expensive but I was willing to pay the price if my dogs used it to go "UP" the stairs, instead of just "DOWN" the stairs. These steps weren't meant for medium or large breeds!!!Maybe constructing "guard rails" on either side would have given my dogs more security, but there wasn't a way to do that:( Some dogs are more adventurous than others, but clearly mine are not...So I get to continue putting them on & off our bed 20 times a night, but we love them to pieces, so it's all good! Sadly, both dogs approach our bed ON MY SIDE ONLY.....grrrrrrgh!

Works well for an older or disabled dog
We have a 10 year old Papillion that underwent back surgery a few months ago. He lost his ability to jump with confidence so we wanted to get him a ramp to be able to get up on the couch or the bed. Since a straight ramp would be too much of an incline we were going to go with stairs. We tried a different type, hard/with carpeted steps, slight downward angle, but he would not go for it. When he did, he would always slip a bit and chose not to use them. These stairs provide a soft, but firm platform for him to use. And the tapered, rather than sharp leading edges seem to make it easier for him to clear the stairs. He has been using them for some time and has figured out the caveats and has no problem using them at all. They are a bit expensive for what you get, but what can you do....pets are family. So, keep a couple of things in mind. The sewing of the cover is nice, but it may move around a bit on the bottom edge of each stair. If we notice it, we tuck the fabric against the bottom of each stair but it will not keep our dog from using it. Probably a bit nit picky, and can remedy with a piece of yarn or string.Also...since this is memory foam, the foam does give a bit when our dog transcends the stairs. What I mean is that when he climbs the stairs, as he pushes off with his back legs the foam will adsorb some of the force as the dog is pushing off. As opposed to hard, firm stairs that provide full resistance. So, our dog had to learn that he had to push a bit harder than usual. Not a big deal, just something that he had to learn, and learned quickly. Liked these so much, that we bought a 3 tier for the couch.

Outside cover difficult to get on
The outside covering is difficult to put on. I washed it and hung it up to dry, but it feels as if the outside covering is too small for the foam stairs.

Great for older/small dogs
Our dog (16lb shih tzu - poodle mix) was starting to lose his night vision. He would wake my up multiple times a night because he was nervous about getting on or off the bed and would need assistance. It took a few days (and a little coaxing) for him to get used to the stairs in the light. Now he flies up and down them just to show off and my wife and I sleep peacefully at night. They gave him his independence and confidence back. Well worth the money to make sure the little man didn’t hurt himself!

Cheaply made.
Almost impossible to put the cover on without ripping the zipper, and that's with two of us handling it. Cannot recommend.

Comfortable
My dog is now in her senior years so it’s important that she stop jumping in and out of beds when I am not present. The steps are comfortable & cushy that she didn’t avoid climbing them as she did the previous plastic steps I had purchased. Great investment for small and senior dogs.

Sturdy and easy
Best steps I have found. My little dog has no trouble with them and if you stub your toe, it doesn't hurt!
