Gripping continuation
Whew! I’m doing a reread of this and I’m hoping I finally get all my thoughts written down this time. First of all I’d like to say that EVERY book so far has just gotten better and better. I am in awe of the world and characters Miranda has crafted.(Spoilers if you haven’t read the first three books ahead):We last left off with Rielle leaving to go with her brother out to sea for a while to get some space. Queen of the Shining Sea picks up about a month or so after when we last heard from her. The story remains gripping as we get some long awaited answers. Can they find a way to heal Jon or will his heart fail him before then? Can Rielle forgive Brennan? Will Rielle finally find out about Jons heart? We got lots of answers but there is still more yet to learn!I am SO thankful these books came into my life and I cannot wait for book 5!

MPirates and Magic and Dragons...Oh My!
Review of Queen Of The Shining Sea ,Book Four of the Blade and Rose seriesBy Miranda HonfleurThe fourth book of Miranda Honfleur’s Blade and Rose series is every bit as exciting as the other three books. With book four, however, the magic takes to the open seas to hunt down the Divinity’s pirates. Our master Mage Reille is back and has joined forces with her brother, Liam, who she once thought dead but was commanding a Pirate Hunting ship. Together with a rag tag crew of magicians, werewolves and humans they wage war against the Magehold, Divinity and their pirates. Neither the Divinity or our Heroine will stand down. Once again Miranda Honfleur’s characters are faced with impossible situations often requiring them to make choices between their ethics and belief’s and eternal love. Does Love truly conquer all? This book is chocked-full of magic, Immortal beings, with a sprinkling now of dragon lore . as the Dragon King hunts Jon, the Earth- bound king. Brennan, Reille’s werewolf ex-fiancé, is forced to choose to embrace his Immortal -royal side. And Olivia and Samara the Court Healers seek out of the box answers to Jon’s heart problems. And in the wilderness Leigh and his elven lover, Ambriel continue to search for clues to be able to seal away the violent portion of the Immortals. Miranda Honfleur introduces us to a world of divided factions that vie for influence, money and power, not so unlike our world. Her characters are forced to make choices that are not always black and white. Its just that in Emaurria, the battles are fought with blades and arrows, wooden vessels , and a dash of magic, instead of tanks and weapons of mass destruction. Having spent sometime in the real-world battles, I am happy to spend some time in Miranda’s world! With The Queen of the Shining Sea, Miranda has again painted a word picture that draws you into powerful, dramatic edge of your seat drama. Once again I lost sleep reading late into the night. I just could not get enough of this book.I am anxiously awaiting the next addition to this series. Book Five, The Dragon King, as it promises to be every bit as thrilling mind-blowing adventure as the rest of the Blade and Rose series.

This series is amazing!
I loved Queen of the Shining Sea! This is book four in the Blade and Rose series and each book just keeps getting better and better. Listening to Amanda Leigh Cobb read through all of the ups and downs (and lefts and rights) just brings this story to life. I really enjoyed getting a feel for Rielle on her own, making a difference and doing what she felt was right. It was a nice change from her being “kept safe” by everyone around her in the last book. (Brennan. I’m looking at you.) As in the other books, new characters are introduced and they made for interesting additions to the storyline as well as bringing back some characters from outside the Blade and Rose series. My favorite part is still how Miranda Honfleur shows how Jon and Rielle’s world is managing the introduction of all these new immortals. Leigh is off on his journey to find the last dragon mage. Brennan is dealing with being a new parent. Rielle is kicking butt and taking names. Everything is leading up to the big battle that is inevitably coming and I can’t wait. Thank you, so much, Miranda Honfleur, for this audio Arc so I can give my unbiased review of this great story.

The best so far!
This was my favorite book of the series so far. All the characters are maturing and it shows in their decisions and actions. The romance is well balanced and satisfying. We get to know more about minor characters from previous books which is fun. Honfleur's world building is immaculate.. she finds the perfect balance between action and politics. I'm so invested in knowing what happens in this world. And the ending of this book DEFINITELY left me wanting more. A great continuation of the story!

Best yet of a fabulous series
The Blade and Rose series is by far the best fantasy/romance series I've read. It is immersive and addictive, beautifully written, with intricately woven threads of magic, scheming, and romance, all firmly anchored with three-dimensional characters who feel like friends. It is a big, meaty story that you can really settle into and enjoy, and at 600+ pages each, there is a lot to enjoy.Queen of the Shining Sea has been my favorite so far. What a relief to see Rielle off doing her thing, strong and confident! And although I've never been a huge Jon fan, I do love Brennan and all his growth, and it's so fun to watch their little "friendship" develop as both men rise to the challenges of their new world. I also really love how the secondary and even smaller characters feel like real people, like Sterling! This author has blown me away with how good her writing is, and how the layers fit together and how details from earlier books come together in thrilling ways. I had the same thought reading Harry Potter years ago, and in my opinion this is what makes a truly stellar author - someone who can blend the technical writing skills with an incredible storytelling imagination. So glad I found this series, very highly recommended!

Another brilliant epic with Jon, Rielle & Brennan in a powerful love triangle
Struggling to become herself & fight the evil Divinity, Rielle's tremendous journey & battles both physical & emotional have us all fighting alongside her & willing her on. Eventually she gets her hearts desire... a great epic - enjoyed it enormously - can't wait for the next now

Awesome!!
A lot of people won't do more than a trilogy as they say it's to long but I'm telling you folks that you would be missing out on an awesome read with this series!! Every book is riveting! The author doesn't insult your intelligence by going over old ground in the following book, it just flows along. I stayed up way past my sleep time until the words blurred together, then the first thing I did when I awoke was picked it up again, I couldn't wait!! It really is an engaging story, never skipped a word and now I have to wait again for the next in this six book series!! So good! Others have spoken about the story line so I won't go into it, just read it yourself!!
