Direct replacement for a navigator. This is a much cheaper solution when you need to freshen up your cleaner.

It worked great for 2 weeks. When I received it I didn't notice that the parts were made in China and not Hayward parts as described in the title. I trusted the reviews. DON'T. Long story short the pods were made in China so all 4 Springs in the pods fell out. I found them in the filter area after passing through my pool motor which I might have to replace. When it 1st arrived I was just so happy that it came quickly that I didn't even complain about the feet that broke and crumbled the moment I touched them. I just bought new Hayward feet and wings and it worked great for 2 weeks. Today I wake up and my pool guy had to come over and give me a used robot and and charge me $200 I also had to gave hi. Clean and shock the pool because overnight the robot but lost all 4 Springs. A few days ago I was praising the robot and telling my wife how I couldn't believe how it climbs all the way up the walls and worked so good and you could have kept it like that if you didn't cheap out and save a few bucks by using made in China parts. I understand this current situation in the economy but for this price which is more than I paid last year you should definitely leave the word Hayward out and not lead people to believe that they are going to get pieces made from Hayward or anywhere for that matter that actually work. I NEVER leave bad reviews. I had people over and we couldn't use the pool. I am embarrassed and I am mad.

This kit is a genuine Hayward item. It was very simple to swap the kit. Just make sure that you seat the plastic ball bearings (Main turbine bearings) on the body. The plastic bearings have a protrusion, on the outer section of the circle, that you need to make sure that it seats on the body. The kit comes with instructions addressing this, but I think they should have a simple drawing to explain it to the none experienced person. I had to open the the cleaner again to correct this because the turbine was not moving as freely as it should have. I assembled it back and it is now running just like new. It should give me years of service for a fraction of the cost of a new vacuum. I highly recommend this product.

My 12+ year old navigator starting to barely move. I first saw the shoes and wings needed to be replaced, which I did, but it still wasn't performing correctly. The cleaner started getting wrapped in its hoses and I was concerned that the gearbox may be bad but it seemed that gearboxes rarely go bad so I was going to buy a new unit. I found this listing and realized I could basically do a 90% rebuild for 33% of the cost of a new one. Everything was in the box and I carefully dissected my old unit to remember where every screw and part went. Took about 30 minutes to swap everything over and now it's going around the pool, and climbing the walls, just like it used to. Very happy and hope to get another 12 years out of my navigator.

After a pod, shoe and flap replacement that I had one of my boys take care of did not restore my navigator's usual performance, I took a closer look when I got home from my trip and found one A-frame bearing was damaged and my bottom frame flap holes were elongated beyond usefulness. I debated buying a new cleaner but decided to see what the parts would run me. When I stumbled across this package I was glad I had checked. I ordered this and added a new gearbox unit for for less than $150.00. Throw in an hour of my time, and I basically replaced just about everything except the outer shell. I essentially have a brand new Navigator in an old shell for a fraction of the cost of a new cleaner. If you are at all handy with simple mechanical repairs, this is a piece of cake to do, especially if you review the service manual. I'd misfiled mine so I just took some extra time while disassembling / reassembling to make sure everything was oriented correctly and properly seated as I went along. End result, bottom of pool is debris free once again

Combine this product with "how to" Youtube videos and you have a winning combination. Just make sure you have the correct cleaner . I have had my sweeper running around the pool for 10 years and had only replaced the rubber feet and side panels when all of a sudden I found ball bearings the the filter basket. It was time for an overhaul. This unit replaced all of the key moving parts . It took me just a hour or so to get it running again. It has been working fine for a few months now, Love it.

Fairly easy to install, at a reasonable price. Probably about half the price of having my pool cleaner rebuilt locally.

Had to get the Styrofoam floats setup correctly and make sure the bearing alignment slots are in the right place and it works like new. At first bearing alignment slots moved when putting back together and it didn't work very well but took it apart and reinstalled everything and now it works great.
