It is a usb controller. No PC hardware is required except for a USB port. It takes no HD space either

Will this work on Macbook air?

It works fine. You may need an adapter from USB to USB-C but I've had no issues with it.

Will this be compatible with windows flight simulator 2002? bought it for grandson.

It is a big hassle to set up unless you are a geek and don't mind fiddling with the set up. I had to set it up myself and we were able to get this yoke and also the associated rudder pedals to work. The CH Eclipse version of this yoke is supposedly plug and play now according to the latest (2/16/2021) update.

does it works with car simulation game?

i would not say it would work for car driving sims because of the turn radius 45 degree turn is all you can get with the flight yoke.
