the packaging was already opened and the earphone set is a cheap Chinese replica. Sound really muffled and distorted.

Bitte die Anmerkung am Ende beachten.Ich bin schockiert, was einige Nutzer hier erfahren zu haben scheinen. Ich habe meine Kopfhörer vor fast anderthalb Jahren in Frankreich gekauft (was allein schon an ein Wunder grenzt, da die meisten Kopfhörer bei mir maximal 6 Monate durchhalten) und mir nun das gleiche Modell, nur eben in schwarz statt weiß, noch einmal gekauft weil die linke Seite ein wenig schwächelt (aber noch ausreichend funktioniert. Ich kann es aber nicht leiden, wenn die Musik gefühlt nur auf einem Ohr liegt. ) und ich wegen 50€ nicht extra nach Le Mans fahre. Was hier über die Qualität ausgesagt wird kann ich nicht bestätigen. Zugegeben, ich habe noch nie 200€-Kopfhörer besessen, aber ich bin schon relativ pingelig, wenn es um die Tonqualität und den Bass geht, und einen so guten Bass habe ich etwa 4 Jahre lang gesucht. Von der Umgebung bekomme ich gehörtechnisch absolut nichts mehr mit (was Vor- und Nachteile mit sich bringen kann), und die Erschütterungen der eigenen Schritte können Kopfhörer meiner Meinung nach genauso schwer ausblenden wie das Rauschen des Blutes in den Ohren. Um ehrlich zu sein leisten die Kopfhörer so gute Arbeit, dass ich nicht extra mehr Geld für andere ausgeben würde. Auch von Soll-Bruchstellen habe ich noch nichts mitbekommen, gerade vor ein Paar Tagen ist die Ummantelung an einer Seite leicht aufgerissen, was man bis zur Ankunft der neuen aber notdürftig reparieren kann, und wie gesagt: bei mir halten Kopfhörer selten länger als 4 Monate durch, maximal 6. Anderthalb Jahre sind meiner Meinung nach für die Preisklasse durchaus in Ordnung.Dementsprechend kann ich nur zu einer Schlussfolgerung kommen: entweder es gibt zwei Marken namens Sennheiser, eine in Frankreich, eine in Deutschland, mit komplett unterschiedlicher Qualität, oder die betreffenden Personen haben ihre Kopfhörer noch mehr strapaziert als ich (und ich habe sie zu Anfang sehr unvorsichtig immer aus der Hosentasche gezerrt, ohne dass etwas gebrochen ist oder ein Wackelkontakt entstand).Anmerkung: die Kopfhörer wurden heute (absolut pünktlich) geliefert. Daraufhin habe ich beide Exemplare verglichen und bin zu folgenden Schlüssen gelangt:die älteren Kopfhörer haben ein etwas längeres Plastik(?)teil am Stecker als die neuen. Außerdem händeln sie, da muss ich den anderen Rezensoren Recht geben, die Höhen etwas besser als die neu gelieferten. Der Unterschied ist aber so subtil, dass ich ihn mit Sicherheit nicht mitbekommen hätte, hätte ich nicht beide 1:1 verglichen. Dieses Problem lässt sich auch problemlos auf ein nicht-hörbares Maß reduzieren, indem man in den Soundalive-Einstellungen den Bass verstärkt. Außerdem bieten die neuen Hörer eine höhere Lautstärke (was im überfüllten Bus bei leise aufgenommenen Liedern ein Segen sein kann) und (dieser Vorteil gilt zugegeben nur für mich persönlich) beide Seiten sind gleich stark.Dementsprechend bleibt nun nur noch abzuwarten, wie lange sie bei einem "Sklaventreiber" wie mir durchhalten.Aufgrund der Unterschiede habe ich meine Bewertung auf 4 ☆ angepasst, da ich den Bass bei den französischen nicht erst anpassen musste. Im Allgemeinen ist die Situation dennoch nicht so schrecklich wie sie hier ab und an dargestellt wird. Wer also für gute Kopfhörer nicht erst nach Frankreich fahren möchte, kann diese Kopfhörer ohne Weiteres kaufen. Wie gesagt: relativ gute Qualität für relativ wenig Geld. Mir stellt sich zwar dennoch die Frage, warum das gleiche Modell der gleichen Marke in zwei Fast-Nachbarländern sich unterscheiden kann, aber ich frag einfach nicht nach. Vielleicht ist das hier ja auch schon eine Überarbeitung des damaligen Modells und man würde sie dort auch nicht anders bekommen. Ich bin auf jeden Fall zufrieden gestellt, meine Busfahrten und Nachmittage sind gerettet und ich gehe jetzt Musik hören. ;)

Firstly, I paid for these headphones so I guess it's unbiased. Secondly, I'm not an audiophile, but I do listen to a fair amount of music on mobile devices. I've found that the earphones that come with most mobile phones almost invariably produce terrible sound because they're badly made with cheap components. They tend to have a lot of tinny resonant frequencies and a loud muffled bass so the one piece of advice I have is this: Buy a pair of good quality earphones - it will make listening to music and audio on your Android device much more pleasurable. A word of caution about what I mean when I say "good quality" - unless you're play FLAC or Lossless encoded tracks through a high end portable music player, spending over a hundred quid on a pair of headphones is a bit pointless. Even 256VBR or 320kbs MP3s are compressed data files so all that happens when you buy high end 3 speaker in-ear monitors is you can listen with high fidelity to all the audio artefacts that get produced when the music file is decompressed. Also look at the audio processors on the mobile devices you're going to use the headphones with. Some are very good. Some aren't.What I look for in a pair of in-ear headphones is a pretty simple list:- A pair of speakers that I can put in my ears and which won't fall out.- Headphones that I can wear comfortably for a few hours.- Earphones that I can use to listen to a wide variety of music and have it reproduced faithfully and with clarity,- I want to hear clear vocals and instruments. I like to listen to lyrics. I don't want a loud distorted bass, tinny trebles, or jarring resonance that all make wearing the headphone a pain in the… ears.- I also want ear headphones that I can use to watch Prime or Netflix too and listen to dialogue and feel the sound effects if I push up the bass a bit.- I like to make and receive telephone calls without continually saying "can you speak up please" or having to repeat myself all the time because of a terrible cheap mic.- I want headphone cables that don't turn into a gordian knot when I put them down and turn my back.- I want to be able to fit my own choice of noise isolating foam tips.The Sennheiser CX5.00G does all of the above. I take them with me everywhere I go. The "travel case" (plastic box) that comes with the earphones in is impractical for daily use so get a small nylon storage case to carry them around in. It'll keep them clean and prevent the leads from getting damaged, even ones as sturdy as these. Some people have reported that cable movement can result in a rustling or rumbling noise being transmitted into the ears. I've experienced this too when using silicon earbuds but it stopped when I fitted my favourite aftermarket foam sound isolating tips so it's definitely something to be aware of. Overall the earphones are well made and even after a few months of use still look bright and new.The sound is very well balanced. I gave up on my last pair of prize winning earphones (made by Sony) in the same price range because after a while the bass was just overpowering. They also went from looking shiny and new to old and worn in less than two months. The Sennheiser CX 5.00 gives a far more balanced soundstage, similar to wearing a pair of monitors, which makes them near perfect in my book but which some people might find a bit neutral.Overall the CX5.00G are an excellent pair of mid range headphones that are ideal for use with your Android device. Sennheiser make a pair of CX5 headphones for iPhones that have a headphone jack. I haven't tried those so I can't speak for their sound quality.I hope this review was fair, balanced and most of all helpful.

The earphones have a nice audio fidelity. When listening to high quality audio, you can easily notice the different instruments or sounds separately. Before I was using the Sennheiser CX 215 and I can say in spite of the bass tended to sound louder, that probably had to do with a bit over-exaggerated bass. The bass in the CX 5.00 isn't bad at all, but you would notice how a better fidelity audio is. Where I can truly notice the difference is in the medium and high frequencies, the richness of the sound is awesome. With spotify sometimes I want a bit that overload-bass party sound, then I just adjust a bit with the equalizer and the earphones perform great. I am very happy being able to choose the overload-bass when I feel like for party music or the normal better fidelity and great-richness sound for alternative rock, classic or jazz music. The microphone also does really good, I don't need to move it ever and the sound while calling is very clear. I just let it be and talk and it takes with clarity the sound of my voice. The 90 degrees jack adjusts very well to the shape of my phone and somehow avoids breaking the cable. The cable also feels very high quality. My only complain comes with the size of the ear adapters. With my previous earphones it worked perfect. Now I have the feeling the size M is a bit little and the L a bit too big. The perfect ones would be a size just in the middle. However the XS and S really show a huge size difference, so I can say the could virtually work for all almost all ear sizes. I bought them in white and the earphones and the case are both beautiful and feel really premium.
