The LPS is a very clean tube and I've used it mostly in my Hi Fi equipment, not in my guitar amp. JJ/Tesla is where you want to go--I find that one to have a more distorted character when driven in the right circuit. **Q: Does the "original version" have the "rounded square shape" mica? or is this the newer "toothed" mica? thank you much.** A: Newer version. I wasn’t impressed with the tone of the tube to be honest **Q: will these fit in my 1987 laney AOR 50 watt head?** A: Yes, the 12AX7LPS should work perfectly with your AOR 50. **Q: What are the sovtek 12ax7lps compaired to the jj's in a marshall 2205 amp?** A: I've always used the Sovtek ax7 LPS in the Phase Inverter position on my Vox and Egnater amps. Purportedly to be the best spot for them.
