Installs easily, key works as expected.

This product was purchased to replace a similar item which was 15 years old. This new product was machined very poorly. Parts did not fit and assembly required filing, grinding, and much wiggling to bring all pieces together and make it work. Also, the key does not rotate smoothly in the cylinder, and much manual persuasion is required. It certainly is not "assemble, install and go".

Ours was to replace a different type. The one with the cut key. Though it was not a perfect replacement we were able to add an extra washer to the locking mechanism to give it the space it needed to actually lock the compartment. So it isgreat!

Parts are chinsey, I would not use it to secure anything valuable
