Locks work great.

I was looking for a set of padlocks that I can use to secure gun safes and ammo boxes. I wanted a set that can be manage with the same key since I don’t want to have multiple keys for them. This set was the perfect option. The material seems sturdy and the padlock is well built. Out of the package every padlock had 2 set of keys (8 in total!). I was concern about it since the description says that the key will open the 4 units. I discover that any key will open any unit, that was a great relief and also a nice feature. I don’t expect for these units to endure weather related damage nor physical beat ups since they will be mostly indoors and hidden so I expect they will perform for many, many years. If you are looking for a set of padlocks that can be managed with 1 key this is it. Don’t waste your time and get it.

These locks do fit the Pelican Vault case as seen in the photo) just barely. They are nickel-plated and would surely rust if left outside. I doubt the shafts are any kind of hardened steel and wood be easily cuttable with a simple pair of bolt cutters or a cordless Dremel. I would never use these where security is a concern and these locks are only meant to keep honest people honest. The key is very generic easily pickable and after ordering a couple sets I have found that all keys are identical between orders, so I wouldn't rely on this to protect anything other than the occasional passerby from peeking in your case. Some of the locks do not pop open when the key is turned and you actually have to push it in first when turning the key or it will not unlock! So the lock construction is not the best but with a little WD-40, it may improve, all in all it's going to serve its purpose to keep the case shut from prying eyes. The price can't be beat though but if you need something that's going to be more secure I would look elsewhere. The rivets on the bottom of a locks are kind of rough, you could grind these down but it would just remove the nickel plating and accelerate oxidation. They certainly do give the appearance of protection at a distance but any smart thief would laugh when they see this lock up close. It will definitely serve the purpose that I bought it for and I would recommend this for a cheap alternative to locking many items with an identical simpke key (you get 24 keys). The lock mechanism where the key inserts and the shaft latch does appear to be brass so it's not a completely worthless lock, but by no means the best you can buy.

I get tired of having a hundred different keys to locks, so this is a great answer. The locks are as well made as master locks of the same type. They all have opened and closed very easily and even after being out in the rain a while, have not given me any problems. You can't find a set of locks like this in my area locally for the price.

Pros: - Reasonable price Cons: - Only been in use outdoors for a little over a week and the lock that I use about twice a day jammed up this morning upon opening. Not sure if it is a weather (is has been raining a lot) or a mechanical issue. Either way, I am not impressed. Note: I had a different lock in that spot for over 7 years with no issues. - Didn't realize how important the thickness of the lock's shank was. These are a little thinner than standard, I believe. I use them on gates in a fence. They are so thin that it is won't take much effort to force the latching mechanism open. They will still work in other latches just fine, as long as they don't depend on the shank to be a certain thickness.

Needed a simple lock to use on theose standard plastic ammunition storage boxes. THese work fine. One key opens them all.

Man bekommt viel Ware fürs Geld, jedoch hat das erste Schloss bereits nach einer Woche am Gartentor durch Oxydation seinen Geist aufgegeben. Daher meine Empfehlung: nur im geschützten Außenbereich einsetzen.
