The candied ginger slices are so good. They seemed to help with my queasy stomach. I definitely recommend them and will order again.

The fact is you MIGHT get lucky and find it with the candied fruit section at the very end of the Christams season, but it is very expensive. So I decided to finally get smart and check on Amazon, and OH MY! What a buy. There was actually way more than a pound in this particualr one, and very reasonable price.I keep it not only to use once in a great while for baking, but mostly to eat a piece when my tummy is upset. Ginger will settle an upset stomach. I also keep the pills, but sometimes a piece of this is prefered.You have to really like ginger to eat this, but those who do find it mouth-watering. I have shared with my daughter AND my son, and probably have a year's supply yet, or more.When my hair dresser tasted a sample, she was on the phone with me immediately asking where and how she could get some. I told her to go to Amazon.com, as it was the only place she'd be sure to find it here.Even my doctor said if you get nauseated when traveling by any method, ginger works. I am allergic to the anti motion-sickness medications, and have a lot of trouble such as on a cruise, and even sometimes flying, and in the mountains on a coach trip one of the ladies had to be put off and get a shot to medicate her. I shared my ginger with her - had just grabbed my can of ginger when I left, and had her stir some in her drink each morning, maybe up to a teaspoon, and she had no more problem with nausea, even though the mountains continued to be pretty rough much of the trip, throguh Georgia and through New Enaland.This is a great product. If you have not tried it and like ginger. go for it.

I'd been buying shaved, crystallized ginger at our local farm market. Then the vendor stopped coming. I bought this SweetGourmet version hoping it would be a close substitute. It's a substitute. But it's not very close. These slices are significantly thicker. They are "gummier" when chewing them and their ginger flavor is weaker. To get them closer to what I like, I shook the slices in a plastic colander to get the excess sugar off. (A tip from another review. Thank you!) Then I spread the slices on a baking sheet, sprinkled them generously with ground ginger, and put them in the oven at 225° for 1-1/2 hours. The result wasn't exactly like what I was getting at the farmer's market. But it's close.

I really love these as a snack. They taste good and have health benefits. Also, my breath sometimes is not the best lol and these supposedly help with that. No complaints so far lol. The only drawback and I hope that the manufacturer reads this: PLEASE MAKE THESE WITH LESS SUGAR SO WE DON'T HAVE A DIABETIC RISK OR CAVITY RISK. THANKS. Other than the sugar, great product and taste. The spiciness in them opens up my sinuses but it's not too spicy. I would give it 5 stars if it didn't have so much sugar!

Hi,Well this is a really good tasting product. I was so happy with it until I opened the bag for the 3rd time and out ran a pretty good sized spider, sort of brown and red I think it was so fast it came at me I threw everything up in the air and it hit the end of my kitchen counter and dropped down so fast I couldn't get my composure and kill it. So I hope it isn't dangerous for us. I will still finish the bag after I have my husband dump it all, look inside for any other stow-aways. But really it tastes really good and I will continue to order it unless I have this same experience again then I will seek out a different supplier.

I suffer from acid reflux, and this is a helpful remedy. I have tried many crystalized ginger products. One from my local Chinese food market, another from my local grocer. and this one. It depends on the origin. Some are from South America, Australia, and Asia. This ginger is imported from Thailand, which is on the label on the back of the package. Asian Ginger is the best in my opinion. I suspect this is cured with Cayenne because it is very tart, and hot. It is not real hot as you would think. With the Super Saver Discount of FREE shipping buying three 16 oz packages its cheaper than buying at my local Chinese food market. I love it so much I have already ordered MORE. The suggestion in the other comment of shaking all the sugar off in a colander works quite well.  Dried Crystallized Ginger, 16 Oz

I discovered crystallized ginger at trader joes recently and fell in love with the spicy sweet tingle. This is my favorite candy, and I was so happy to see I could purchase a full pound of it on amazon.Some of the pieces are a bit stringier and others a bit harder than ginger I've purchased from other retailers- this might have something to do with the brand quality or it might just have been the batches bag came from. However, I will definitely buy again as this ginger was strong, tingly, not too sweet, and a really good deal for the price.

Starts off with a sweet delectable taste and lovely texture and works its way into a mild ginegry heat that is perfectly balanced. I have acute pancreatitis and because of it experience severe nausea on a daily basis. This products calms and takes away the nausea better than the prescription Zofran they've had me on for years. This is such a great find for someone like me who is always trying to find products to help wean me off the pharmaceuticals they have me on for the pancreatitis. This has taken over for the Zofran and actually works better and doesn't exhaust me which is one of the side effects I experience with the prescription pill.High;ly recommend for severe nausea.
