The deck engagement handle returns to the bottom now when disengaging the deck belt, so the handle pushes down on the safety switch

This part was easy to replace and worked perfectly to keep the blade engagement handle against the safety switch of my craftsman mower. As others have said in other reviews, the part is not an exact match to what I had as OEM. The difference is the diameter of the spring circle. Like another reviewer I took a larger washer and enlarged the hole to 7/16" for the handle rod to fit thru and it worked perfectly. The whole process took me 15 minutes including drilling the new washer. You simply have to remove a cotter pin to remove the handle rod, place the new piece on the rod with the larger washer, the place back together with a new cotter pin (or use the old if you removed it nicely)

This is what I needed to keep my blade engagement rod fully seated against the safety on my mower. Without this part, it was starting intermittently.
