Does its job. Accurate and quick. I can't imagine how on earth I'll ever use up 150 test strips and just wish they came in more reasonable quantities.

I recently purchased a new countertop ice maker and wanted to check our water hardness to help determine how frequently I should descale the machine. I've always thought we had hard water but the water hardness map that comes with the machine shows us in the least hard area of the country. Our tap water comes from a private, spring fed well and tastes better than bottled spring water.The results from these test strips seems to agree with the water hardness map but, without another water source to compare its honestly a little difficult to tell. Why? The attached picture includes a dry strip fresh from the bottle and the test strip I dipped in my tap water. So our water is either a "0" level hardness or the test strips don't work. It's very hard to know for sure without a different water source.I also have the 16 parameter water test strips by this same company. When I try to check our water hardness using those strips I get a color that isn't on their chart. I'm not sure how that's even possible.

I am very satisfied with this kit. The strips are very easy to use and the results appear in just a few seconds. Truth be told - I was cynicalHowever, I'm pleasantly surprised. The strips work very well, and I can be 100% sure about this because I have my water softener connected to the hot water only. This is how I wanted it to be setup. I do not want my drinking water softened any more than it is, I actually have a separate filter for that anywaySo, I did two tests, and as you can see from the photo. Green is the hot water tap result, and light brown is the cold water tap result. In a nutshell my hot water is soft, and my drinking water is mildly soft. Perfect!All-in-all a conclusive result and there are plenty of strips to last a very long timeWould I recommend this product? 100% YES!

Very imprecise. Colors change and fade, and even if you manage to do it right, you end up with a wide scale between two colors and you have to estimate with a LOT of error margin.Buy an electronic tool instead, don’t waste your money on this.
