TEKTON7610 Telescoping Lighted Magnetic Pick-Up Tool

Rarely do I make a purchase where I say to myself "I would have paid ten times more for this than it cost!". Well, this product induced me to have that rare thought. This thing is amazing, it picks up stuff (i'm always trying to retrieve dropped hearing aid batteries, which are tiny, elusive, hard to see on my hardwood floors and highly dangerous to children and animals if swallowed), it has a bright light that can be turned on, and it telescopes. I just noticed that it is also sold by a Michigan company (& I am a Michigan resident), so that commends it as well. The price for this multi-functional well designed and manufactured item is unbelievably low. Pick one up before they wise up and start charging more for this wonderful gizmo.

The magnet works ok but the light that was advertised does not work at all. The product came with 4 batteries. I tried new batteries as well but nothing worked. I specifically bought this product for the light, otherwise there are a number of magnetic pick up tools with much smaller heads I would have purchased instead. The light didn't work straight out of the package. I didn't send it back or complain, not worth my trouble. I still gave it a 3-star rating because I wasn't really looking for the light feature. I just wanted the pick-up tool. I have quit a few Tekton tools, this is the first one I have had much of an issue with other than personal preference type issues. I guess that's why they don't sell this item on the Tekton website anymore.

Save your money. This is very cheaply made and very flimsy

I gave a five star rating for an excellent addition to my toolbox.This pickup tool has a strong magnet and bright light.I had to use it a few times to pickup a bolt and nut on the motor mount housing that I couldn't see or feel.this tool did the trick for me.I highly recommend this tool.

Strong magnet but sort of too flexible for its desired use. If I drop a wrench in an engine bay, it flex’s a little when lifting. I thought it would be bigger and sturdier but it still gets the job done. I’ve been told Harbor Freight sells a similar item (different brand) and its less money. So I may try that next. If not, there’s always Snap-On.

Disappointed, the light portion did not work. I tried to replace the batteries, which cost more than the magnet/light cost, to no avail. The package states it requires 3 LR41 batteries, my light had four batteries installed. I tried both 3 & 4 batteries with supplied and purchased batteries with no success. To be fair , I have not tried to return the light. I have several of their tools and I doubt it will be an issue to exchange.UPDATEI continued to orient the batteries and began working as advertised with the supplied batteries. I am uncertain why it would not work initially. I would buy again.

Does the job and great to pick up metal products with the magnet in tight areas
