These work as well as the ones I was getting from the store where the compost pail was purchased and are considerably less in cost! The pail sits on my kitchen counter and we have no odor from the garbage in it. Of course we do empty the pail every couple of days.(daily in canning season of course).

I purchased these filters last year and just reordered from the same previous order. Last year, the filters were nice and thick and fit the crock tightly. Now they are very thin, fit very loosely in the crock lid and don't even cover the vent holes. This is causing fruit flies in our kitchen. Very disappointed....cheap product, do not buy

The round ones fit the top, what are the square ones for?
