Ardokit Smart Robot Car Chassis Kit Speed Encoder Battery Bo

Having just stepped my foot into the arduino world I of course wanted to make a mobile robot. Bought a kit to learn with, then decided I was smart enough to build a robot. Bought this because I had a bunch of parts, I figured.The chassis went together A-OK. The seller sent an email after purchase on how to assemble it, actually. It seems study and large.But getting it together I realized I didn't have enough IR sensors for the speed encoders. What's weird is in the included instructions it says, "battery back is a gift, it does not include mounting screws." Except it does.But... There's no where to fasten it to the board. There are so, so many holes and you can't line the two up to save your life. It's the only reason I'm docking a star because the motors work A-OK and everything.

It's cheap and you get what you pay for. It came with enough screws and nuts to attach the motors and wheels but not enough to attach the battery pack. It doesn't come with instructions so I originally set it up completely wrong. That being said it works well enough and I was able to use it to drive around an avoid walls it under an hour. I would recommend this if you want a cheap robot starter kit. you will need to buy other sensors.

Not a bad starter kit; it works well with the Microsoft Rover. The only complaint is I had to elongate the four holes that mount the motor so the axles are over the sensor holes. The sensor holes are the cross pattern on the base. You can use the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00843JUJM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 to add a tachometer function. Useful to detect when the motor has stalled when caught or running into things. The shipped plastic chassis did have a fracture but not critical.

Very pleased with the overall construction of the kit. It was simple enough that my kids were able to do most of the assembly.There were no included instructions, however, and none of the holes line up properly to fully secure the battery pack. Overall I give 4/5

This kit is ok for the money , not for the beginner..you will need mechanical previous experiance with electrical kits..It has a few draw backs on information on the mounting of the motors. I have passed it on to the kit providers.

For the price I paid, this chassis was good. But there are some construction configuration error (shown in pic, the profusion prevents the round lock to be put on seamlessly). Plus no clear instructions came but there are tutorials on YouTube.

Unit does come with Chinese directions but if you are ordering this kit and can't figure out how its put together, you shouldn't be ordering this kit! Other than that, quality is actually pretty legit! Does comes with plenty of mounting hardware. As other have said, they did have to drill new holes to mount the raspberry pi 2, this is true, or just use double sided tape for this project. This kit has endless possibilities!

One motor goes way faster than the other. I event set the speed of the slower motor to its maximum and the speed of the faster motor to its slowest speed and it was still a lot faster.
