Adequate replacement for a fair price.
I bought this french press to replace the Bodum press I had been using. The plunger piece on the Bodum kept lifting away from the bottom of the stick as I pushed down and would not fully press the coffee grounds. So far this press is doing a good job and I haven't experienced this issue. The metal circle piece is not as 'robust' as the one on the Bodum, but everything functions as it should.
