Classy, comfy, outstanding Dr Scholl's Gaston sandals.
These Dr Scholl's sandals are gorgeous. They are large on the front so their size is comparable to a wide or E for some brands even if the size available in this model, Gaston, that I purchased, was not specified as such but as M.The W, or E size wasn't available, otherwise I'd have purchased that instead or this M.Anyway these sandals are indeed a very satisfactory fit for my large feet. The strap is very simple, just open and close. Not really customizable, but the beauty of Dr Scholl's shoes is that they contour to the foot perfectly. As I said I wear 10 and 1/2 wide, or E, or EE depending on the brands, and I got 11, and they fit a little less than half inch longer, allowing movement of the toes, a perfect fit, and they are just large enought for my large foot, the side of my foot touches the side of the shoe but it is soft and doesn't hurt. The inside is padded with soft sintetic black material and the foot rests on memory foam, that is comfy, but not my favorite. They are very comfortable nevertheless, (maybe too much for a former Teva aficionado such me), and very classy, definitively beautiful.Their overall look is classic, these look like old school leather shoes, the sintetic padding is hidden, the little hook and strap are nice touches, overall gorgeous.I was also lucky because there was an Amazon coupon available at the moment I purchased these sandals.I purchased these on August 7, 2020 for $37.46 before taxes, ($48.99 was the original price minus a coupon of $11.53).Also, I had a pair like these in high school...I am good to go!

A good, useful, cheap sandal.
Easy to slip into these sandals. I wear them all year long, and usually do not use socks, even in winter. They are comfortable.

I ordered 1.5 to 2 sizes smaller than I normally wear
I typically wear a 8 to 8.5 depending on the brand. I had to return the 8 and ordered a 7.5. While it is a bit more snug than I wanted, the 8 was sliding on my heel. The strap has no adjustment, just a way to open or close the strap around my foot. The cushioning is very nice.

Sturdy construction, yet nice looking sandal.
These sandals are well made, and look good too.Nice break for men like my husband, who wear steel toed boots year round, and need to have coverage on their day off excursions.

Comfortable sandals
I've worn this type of Dr. Scholl's sandals for years. I wear sandals June through September and have two or three pairs one of which is Dr. Scholl's. If your preference is just a strap or two across your foot you may not like this type.

Perfect combo of classy and durability for my cruise
There is a reason why the most helpful reviews are after extended use of the product. When I see a review that says, "5 stars - I just opened the box and I love it" I want to shout, hey, use the darn thing first! And that's why I'm here for you today.I've just returned from a cruise where we visited Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Poland and Germany. I bought these sandals for the cruise so I would look sharp aboard ship and would be comfortable on our long walks ashore. My wife and I never sit still, we walk and hike. So when we'd landed at any port, on go the sandals and we would walk at least 8,000 steps, sometimes more than 20,000 steps (that's over 20 km) per day. We walked over sidewalks, cobblestones, and gravel country paths, through several old castles and forts including one up a rough dirt road in Denmark. These sandals are super comfy and supportive, some of the best ever. In Norway we walked through a deluge of rain, where the sandals were completely immersed under water in deep puddles - with my previous leather sandals (Clark's and Rockport) any complete soaking was doom for the insole, where it would tear, but not these Dr. Scholl's sandals, they dried out in the sun and feel just as comfortable as before. In total we walked for fourteen days and over 100 kms, and check out these photos, they still look new, minus a little heel wear due to my tendency to scrape my heals as I walk. So, 5 stars for these sandals, they're comfy, tough and look great - exactly what I needed for my cruise.

The most comfortable sandal I've found
I bought a pair of these 5 years ago when I took my family to Disneyland in Florida for my disabled son, which he wore when he wanted in the summer, and he said they are so comfortable like walking on cushions, but they lost the cushion through wear and tear, so managed to contact the seller to get the correct size as it's different from UK, so he has a new pair for 2019 summer, he will be happy. I would recommend them to anyone, they're not heavy to wear, and the velcro makes it so easy to do up. Even my partner wore them a couple of times, and he even said they are comfy, and he doesn't normally wear sandals at all, which must be so hot and uncomfortable if your stuck in shoes all year, fingers crossed I will convert him to a pair all so lol.
