The search continues....
I've used a hands-free leash for nearly 25 years and have constantly looked to find one that is comparable to the first one since it's getting quite old. I have yet to find one with the options and of the quality the first one has. I had high hopes for this one but it just doesn't fit the bill. I do like this one, I like that the optional items are removal and I can pick and choose which to use depending on my need for a particular outing. I like the shock absorbing stretch leash and the waist band is comfortable with the added bonus of being reflective. My main concern with this one is how well it will hold out to continual daily use. The the D-ring that the leash hooks to is sewn in to the outer layer, under the reflective band. I don't see this as being incredible strong. My first dog, when I got my original hands-free leash, was a 112 pounds of energy. I believe he could have pulled the D-ring on this leash out on the first go.For a small/medium dog or for mellow dogs, this leash is great and will last quite a while.Improvements I would like to see, that my first and favorite leash has:Zipper pocket in the waist portion to put keys and/or ID for when you don't need the optional items attached.Snap attachment (like on the waist band itself) for the leash rather than a hook. The snap attachment should be around the band rather than just sewn onto the band. This is more secure with no concern of the dog, no matter how strong, pulling the D-ring attachment off the waist band. The ability to shorten and lengthen the leash portion. I like to go longer on trails so he has more freedom. I like to go shorter when running or when walking on sidewalks with other dogs and people around us.Someday I'll find the perfect replacement for my 25 year old leash. Luckily it's still going strong...just doesn't look so pretty!I received this item at a discount for my honest, unbiased review.

Great idea, wish it had a larger waist band
I was very excited about this purchase and checked repeatedly for a delivery notification. Once it appeared in my entry way I didn't hesitate in opening the box and getting it out. The belt seems very well made and I quickly put on all the little pouches that came with it, ready to give it a try. Unfortunately, I'm to fat for it. I could buckle it, barely, and it wasn't comfortable. Extremely disappointing but not entirely unexpected. This is made for jogging and I am definitely not one to jog. I didn't want it for jogging in fact but rather so I could take my German Shepard with me bike riding and still remain hands free. He walks pretty good but I prefer to bike ride and thought this would be great for the two of use. I'm not willing to give up on it though and started by going in search of something to lengthen the belt a bit. It has quick release snap buckles on it like back packs and a lot of collars so I found a dog collar that looked like it would work. The one end fit alright but the insertable end of the buckle was shorter and wouldn't engage the receiver end of the dog collar. I can modify the collar to make it work but in the time it took me to get the collar, the belt fits a bit better, enough to take the dog for a walk though I won't be taking him on a bike ride until I can get the belt fitting comfortably. The belt itself seems to be made well and I like having the pouches for everything I need though they probably don't really help the fit. The leash portion is nice enough and you can use it as a regular leash if you want though I wouldn't in anything but an emergency. The handle part is a bit stiff and I don't think it would be comfortable. All in all, I like it and I look forward to using it more but be aware that if you have a large waist (46" for instance) it isn't going to fit right or at all without modification.I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The concept behind this waist belt leash is great, but I found that this set did not ...
I purchased the Covenov Elastic Belt Strap Running Leash with Water Bottle Holder and Dog Treats Bag as I was looking for a hands free way to walk my dog while I go for walks with my kids. The concept behind this waist belt leash is great, but I found that this set did not seem to work well for my particular needs. I found I was not found of the stretchy leash as it allowed my dog to run out into the street and I did not feel like it was strong enough to hold if he pulled too much or too hard. I also did not like the that belt did not have any padding on the back. The front is nicely padded, but I found that I did not really need padding there as I primarily needed it in the back for buffer should my dog pull. I also found that all the accessory pouches, though nice to have as an option, can be rather cumbersome and heavy if all used. The water bottle holder is also only really good for small lightweight bottles as anything too big or heavy just falls out. I like that all the accessories can be easily added or removed so as to pick the needed ones or none for each outing. One thing that I did like about the leash itself is that it has both the option for use on the belt or as a stand alone leash. The quality of the leash seems to be pretty good and I think it would work well for most other people. However for me this was not the best running leash set, but if others have a dog that does not pull and they do not mind a long stretchy leash than this set would be great for them.Disclaimer: I received this item at a discount in exchange for my honest unbiased review. I did so as I, like many others, rely on user reviews to help me decide if I should buy a product so when I review I seek to be as truthful and helpful as I can be.
