Alpaca Warehouse 100% Natural Alpaca and Sheep Wool Blanket King Size Thick Heavyweight Comfortably Warm - Great for Outdoor Use - Striped Design 103" x 90" (Beige/Brown/Gray, King)

First off it's HUGE, and will cover 2-3 people easily. It's the softest Alpaca/sheep wool blanket I've bought so far, and I also bought a Desert Breeze Alpaca/sheep wool blanket with almost the same dimensions and weight. The Desert Breeze one was supposed to be made from half Alpaca and half Merino wool. So I thought it would be even softer and warmer, but it wasn't. It was very similar, but not as soft as the Alpaca Warehouse brand. This Alpaca Warehouse brand is noticeably softer, it's longer and wider by about four inches, and it weighs a half pound or so more. The Alpaca Warehouse blanket is also cheaper, by 20-40 dollars, depending on if a coupon is available. This blanket will keep you warm and toasty, but you won't get overheated. It truly is a luxurious blanket! If you want the warmest, softest, thickest, and biggest blanket, get the king size. I actually just bought the queen/full sized version of this Alpaca Warehouse blanket, because it had a 20 dollars off coupon. It will be better for camping, because it weighs less. That should tell you how much I love this blanket. The only reason I got the Desert Breeze version of this blanket, is because it was "Amazon's choice" and was supposed to be half Merino wool, not just sheep wool. But the tag did not say Merino wool, it said half Alpaca and half sheep wool, and it wasn't as soft as the Alpaca Warehouse version. The only reason I didn't return it, is because the company selling it is a small American business, it would have been a hastle to return, and it's still a quality blanket. But the Alpaca Warehouse beats them in price, quality and comfort. So if you are looking for a luxurious wool blanket that will last for several generations, look no further! I couldn't recommend this blanket enough! Anyone who already loves wool blankets, will absolutely adore this one! They sell out quickly during winter too, so if you are contemplating this purchase, don't. Just get it! I guarantee you will love it! I couldn't be happier with the quality, of this blanket! Like others have mentioned, it does have a slight lanolin smell, but anyone who owns wool knows that is par for the course. You know it's real quality wool when it has that smell. You could always wash it before you use it, just don't use detergent. Get something specifically for wool, or use a natural detergent made from essential oils and such. You wouldn't want to ruin the properties of genuine Alpaca and wool. This blanket is great for winter at home or if you car camp. It would be great taking with you on a trip to the cabin. I wouldn't recommend it for backpack camping, although it would work. But it's heavy, so you have to take that into consideration. But it would probably beat out quite a few heavy duty sleeping bags, so it could be used. But it is very big, thick, and bulky, so I wouldn't use it for backpack camping. Either way, especially if you live in the Northern hemisphere, it is a great investment. We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so you mine as well enjoy that time with a beautiful warm, soft, and cozy Alpaca Warehouse Alpaca/sheep wool blanket.

Very glad I made this purchase! The blanket is placed between two light weight covers to eliminate any stiff or scratchy feeling, however, this wool is not particularly scratchy, I'm just used to the velvety blankets purchased in the past, but they do not hold the heat like wool. The odor was strong when first removing from packaging, but not particularly strong now after a months use. It is very warm. I purchased the full/queen and it fits my queen size mattress very nicely with plenty overhang on the sides. It's not too heavy. It is well made and of good quality.

i absolutely LOVE this blanket!! the quality is so high—the material is super thick, and also soft, not scratchy: love that it is all natural fibers. this is the kind of high quality blanket that will last many, many years, and it makes a huge difference in a cold state like Colorado. the colors are lovely; and I’m so glad i ordered it. This blanket is beautiful. It is very warm and has a softness to it. I think it needs to be broke in from being folded in the package for so long. I love to cuddle up with it on the sofa, and it also looks beautiful on my bed. I haven't noticed any offensive smells to it. It is well worth the money and it will last me a long, long time. Great quality product!

I was looking for a good-quality, 100% wool winter blanket that is reasonably priced, and this one really delivers on comfort and warmth. The alpaca and sheep wool blend feels soft, breathable, and comfortably warm without being heavy. It’s a nice medium thickness and works great for colder nights. I did take one star off for the color. The beige in the online listing photo looks much lighter and more neutral, but in person it leans more orange than I expected. I’m not a fan of orange tones, but I decided to keep the blanket because the quality is honestly very good.

As soon as I opened this my kitten knew this was for him, he sat right in it. It has a nice thickness to it. It’s 50% alpaca and 50% sheep wool. It’s definitely large enough for a cat. I’m using it in the house and for his stroller rides and car seat. It’s soft and feels good. It will definitely keep him warm. It looks large enough for a small dog and possibly a medium sized one as a flat blanket. It easily folds over for a cat blanket

So warm and soft . Heavy duty and heavy weight. Well worth the money , would buy again . The stitching on the seam is outstanding . There is a natural wool smell . I hung it outside in the wind , which helped . The smell is not disagreeable and my wife states that there wasn't an odor . So now we have a new subject to mull and discuss at length
