Having a great holster.
Excellent holster, very comfortable, fits my S&W9Plus perfectly. Like how I can adjust it.

The finest appendix item I've ever used
This is simply an awesome item. Works as intended and does it extremely well. I can use the item and sit comfortably at a dining table or in a conference room.

Great Holster!
I got a paddle holster for my Shield previously and had been in the market for an Appendix holster for a while now. I heard good things about the Alien Gear ShapeShift so I decided to give it a go. I ordered the item on a Monday and had it in my hands by end of business Wednesday (USPS shipping - super fast). Anyway, my pistol fit perfectly into the shell with a satisfying "shick" sound. The retention is fully adjustable with a twist of a screw, so you are able to set the desired amount with minimal effort. A previous review mentioned that there was some bulk to the holster. It is true that it is a bit thicker than some of the other kydex holsters out there. After one evening of wearing the holster in the appendix position, I realized that this setup suited me far better by moving the holster clockwise from 12:30 to 1:30. My 1911 positions itself better closer to 12:30, so I had a preconception of where I should be placing the gun. After I made the move that there was far less printing - so my advice to anyone getting a new holster is to try repositioning slightly. Overall the holster seems quite sturdy and of good quality. It's comfortable to wear, makes my weapon easily accessible and is safe. I would recommend this holster to anyone looking for a good AIWB option.

Great holster system!!
Excellent holder and the modular functionality of the shapeshift platform is perfect. This is my first concealed holster, so I do not have much to compare to, but it did buy it for what it is and for the options and conversations -modularity. The pad is comfortable on the surface, but can push into waist or leg when working and doing a lot of movement depending on position. I feel that mo matter what position, there will be some dig or push of any holster. It just goes with it. The only thing I took away a star for is that they presently only offer a clip on the front. Maybe soon, they will put out an O clip option of a snap loop option to change it out. The clip is great for now, solid and easy to slip over pants/belt, but I do understand as they say that it will wear over time. When it comes available, it will be one of the first changes. I will be getting some of the other expansion packs for other carry options and review them as well. I am only testing presently and found that for my full size M&P 11:00 position offers the most comfort and least print with length of the grip and bulge from the clip and thickness of the complete unit. 1:00 position is a bit more comfortable but prints more. It isn't very noticeable, but it does print. I may consider a mag pouch as well and the other IWB pancake expansion pack to try to spread the bulge and make it print even less. It is a great holster for what it is though. Highly recommended.

Not practical for a full-size pistol
I recently purchased the Alien Gear ShapeShift Appendix Carry Holster, customized to hold a Beretta 92 FS. I own an older-model Taurus PT 92 AFS, and I can confirm that the Taurus fits perfectly into this holster. (Note: I’ve read that any Beretta or Taurus model with a rail will not fit this holster.)The holster arrived fully assembled, which was convenient and saved me time. The retention is impressive; I tested it by holding the holster upside down, and the pistol remained securely in place. However, I won’t be using this holster to conceal my Taurus for the following reasons:Printing Issues: My full-size gun prints way too much. I’ve tried wearing it in the appendix, hip, and buttocks positions without success. (NOTE: I'm a slim guy, 5'10, 170 lbs., with a slight "too-many-carbs" belly).Comfort Concerns: Appendix carry is too uncomfortable when seated. It is acceptably comfortable when standing and walking.Ride-Height Problem: The ride-height is too low and is not adjustable. As a result, the pistol sits too low in my pants, making it unnaturally difficult to draw my weapon. While the holster has some great features, these drawbacks make it unsuitable for my needs. I hope this review helps others in making an informed decision.

It will get you killed in a defensive situation
Very bulky. There’s no way I can wear this without printing unless I put on a tarp as a tshirt. It is also horrible uncomfortable. There is no place I can put it that feels comfortable, probably due to it’s extreme bulk. The retention is also way too loose. Even when tightened to the max the gun feels floppy. I really expected a heck of a lot more in this price range.Edit: after practicing with this holster for a while, I realized it has a very serious design flaw at least when using it for the Ruger LC9. The flap of material that is supposed to sit between your firearm and your stomach causes your thumb to be directed perfectly onto the mag release when attempting to draw. It acts as a guide that forces your thumb onto the release. About one in ten draws, my thumb would catch on the mag release and the magazine would pop out of the gun. Obviously, that makes this holster completely useless for concealed carry. I almost sold my LC9 because I thought it was a design flaw in the gun, until my local gun shop explained why it was happening and let me try a different style holster. This holster is a total failure and could potentially fet you killed if you ever need to deploy your firearm. Stay away!

Good quality holster
I received the Alien gear appendix concealed holster today. Which was sooner than expected but glad to see it come in early. It's very comfortable and easy to manage while wearing it. For those who might not have found it, the tightening retention screw/knob with the square in the middle is to the side.Overall, very pleased with the product alien gear has put out so far. Pricing isn't bad for the quality that you receive.
