Q: Seller said these were not for food, other places sell them and say they are safe for food. (Kirklands) Are they, or aren't they?

The lids are not airtight nor watertight. The inside glass should be fine for food, but the colors are basically painted on over clear glass and that s what isn't food safe. They're sold as "canning jars" but they definitely aren't for canning. Super cute but impractical. I sent mine back.

Q: Do these take regular or wide mouth lids?

Regular sized canning rings and flats are slightly too large for these jars. The jars come with a very nice lid that does close tightly, but these are not meant for canning use.

Q: Are these jars food grade? Wondering if they can be used for drinking and food storage?

Yes. I've used them for beverages. My mother-in-law uses them for storage as well as canning.

Q: Are the clear ones food safe( honey)?

I really don't know the answer to that, I would think so if you washed them well with warm soap and water. but I purchased them to make candles in. Might want to contact the manufacturer of them to get the correct answer to that.
