This clipper is wonderful and well worth the price. When I cannot bring my long-haired cat to the groomers, I trim the long fur at home during the hot summer months. The motor on these clippers is pretty quiet, compared to the corded trimmers I have used before. When trimming your pet's fur, cordless is the only way to go and they will run away.Cons: after long storage you have to charge the battery before use. Sometimes runs out of charge if you run it for a long period of time.

I purchased this model to replace an older version that lasted more than five years. Unfortunately this model lasted less than six months. There was no warning that the unit was failing since it worked and was fully charged but never powered up.It is hard to determine whether the clippers or the charging base has failed. One clue that it might be the charging base is when it worked the red charging light was solid until the clippers were fully charged and the light turned to green. Now, the light remains solid red for about 30 seconds before it begins to display a blinking red light. It has been connected to different power outlets without any success.Of course, it failed long after the return/replacement date so I am stuck with a 215.00 (price has dropped to 184.00, which might be another clue about the clippers) with the option of buying a charger or battery since it is impossible to be sure what has failed. Both items are around 50.00 each making it easier to simply throw the clippers away and look elsewhere for better clippers.The price tag of these clippers make buying it not worth the chance the clippers will fail. There are several reviews on Amazon about the clippers failing to power up without warning so there must be something wrong with the clippers that roughly 10% fail within a year.

I bought this to replace a 15+ year old earlier model that broke after a hard fall. Love everything about it. I use it only on my Scottish terrier at home, every couple of months, and it pays for itself in savings over trips to the professional groomer. I have small hands, but can easily and comfortably grip this, and don't find it unusually heavy. It does get warm, but not uncomfortably so, either for me or my Scotty. She doesn't mind the sound or feel at all. It stores neatly in hard-sided case. Handy to have the extra battery charged and ready to use in case our grooming session runs long and the initial battery slows down. After finding this on Amazon, I hesitated a few weeks before committing to such a pricey purchase, but now have no regrets. Would highly recommend.
