Excellent pump - worth the money and most importantly it won't break.
We got about 50 pumps in our warehouse of various styles and this far is the best imho. Little expensive compared to what we pay for the plastic ones but this pump is very easy to operate and can confidently say it'll be durable compared to other plastic pumps we've been purchasing. The issue with the plastic pumps are with the handle and the connector between handle and pump - they keep breaking. Now only if we can get a bulk discount on these - we'd like to replace all of our pumps with this one ;-)@Lucas' comment - all standard NPT pumps don't fit plastic drums, you need an adapter to connect any of the standard pump to the barrel. You can get those adapters here or on global industrial, there are3 different size openings so check before you order. We keep all three sizes in stock because we don't know when we'll get a drum that needs specific size adapter.

Works great with oil.
Shipped fast. Easy to assemble. Worked great right out of the box. Quality workmanship. The pump is exactly what we needed for our 55 gallon oil drums. Will be happy to purchase again when we need it.

First off let me say this is a great pump, if your application is correct this is your last stop because for the money and quality you won't get a better pump. I rated it 1 star because I want people to read my review before they order it.This pump does not have the ability to securely screw into a standard 2" bunghole. None of the information that I have seen regarding this pump informs the buyer of this. SO IF YOU CANNOT remove your barrel lid, you will not be able to attach this pump to the barrel and you will need a second set of hands to hold the base of the pump while a another person actually else uses it. IF YOU DO have a removable lid, you will STILL NEED a 2" lock nut that doesn't come with your purchase. (You can get these as home depot and can find them in the electrical department on a 2" EMT connector). All Im saying is make sure you know your barrel, otherwise you will be stuck with an amazing pump that you can't use.Use of actual pump, ***** Practically of use in all applications? -**** which is the reason Im giving this pump one star.

so with six trips to the recycle center I can get rid of the oil in the drum and then will be good to go for 2-3 years
Ok, just got this today. I have a 55 gallon drum full of used motor oil. Have given up on getting an oil disposal service to my house, so decided I needed a way to drain the oil into two gallon containers. Five containers is ten gallons of oil, so with six trips to the recycle center I can get rid of the oil in the drum and then will be good to go for 2-3 years. I tried a squeeze-bulb siphon I already had; it worked but was oh so slow. So I ordered this one. I like the product, and once I got it figured out it worked well. But I had a couple of problems. First, there were NO instructions in the box. After a bit, I did figure out how to extend the suction tube. Then it was pretty straightforward to screw the entire unit into the top of my 55 gallon drum. I first used the high angle discharge spout. Started pumping and I'm thinking, this works great. About that time, the plastic high angle cap popped off and oil spewed everywhere. After ten minutes or so, I got the spilled oil cleaned up. Screwed the curved discharge spout in. It worked fine (there's nothing to pop off). It took a more pumps to fill a two-gallon jug than I had thought it would, but, still, it was multiple times quicker and easier than using the squeeze-bulb plastic siphon I already had. SO: overall, I like it. Seems sturdy enough. Pumps well enough. I would like to have had a suction tube long enough to reach to the bottom of the 55 gallon drum, but it is a foot or more too short to do that. I also wasn't impressed with the glued-on plastic tip on the high-angle discharge spout. But, overall a seemingly quality unit for the price. Will update later if any other issues arise.

Just tried it out on a barrel of anti freeze. Works pretty well. I wish it would screw into the barrel (fitting on the bottom of the pump is smaller than the barrel’s opening). The pump is a lot t faster than the old plastic one I was using. I’m looking forward to trying it out on some high viscosity soap.

Not a good pump
i brought 2 of this pumps. Both these pumps leak very bad, rubber seals are very cheap. One of this pump quit working after a month. Not recommend.

We build water filters for poor and indigenous communities
We build water filters for poor and indigenous communities. This pump has been a great addition for both cleaning the filter. We use hollow membrane filters that require backwashing. The pump has also been useful in providing large quantities of filtered water. The pump is being used in a school - which means large numbers of kids are using the pump and it has preformed well.
