I would never buy this product again from this provider. It was expired and had to be thrown out

Yes it is! Only shampoo I will use!

Q: it makes the hair lighter this shampoo?

This combo both smelled terrible as though it was a rotten acidic smell. I used it once and when I got a strong whiff of it I threw it out. I would NOT recommend buying from this vendor

Q: are they sulfates free?

Yes. That's the short answer. Aveda products are plant based and use all natural ingredients. This line is not as good on color treated hair for everyday use - that is my from my personal experience. I have blonde highlights.
