The box is well built and sturdy. However the plastic key may not hold up as long as the box. I bought it for my Grandson as a momentous box after my husband passed. He really likes it.

My Grand Niece was marred recently and I wanted to gift the beautiful couple with some family heirlooms and momentos. This little chest was perfect!! The inside was as finished as the outside. It would fit handsomely of a book shelf or coffee table where objet d'art are displayed and shared.The reason I gave 3 stars for sturdiness was that while the lock was very attractive it was very flimsy to actually lock/unlock. IT WAS/IS, HOWEVER EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR !!!

This box was perfect. We used it for our mother's ashes. My sister & I were very upset about our mother's sudden passing & didn't want to have to go pick out an urn...it was overwhelming. We followed our mother's wishes & buried her ashes with my our father, in our family cemetery. We made the right decision when ordering this. The box is beautifully made & sturdy, with a nice working lock, & Skelton Key. It was just what we wanted. Family members were able to place things in the box that were important to us....photos, etc...

I keep my tie clips, special pens, watches, and various jewelry on my bedside table. When I grew out of a cigar box, I bought this well-crafted box for its generous size and locking features. I wasn't disappointed! It is large enough for multiple watches and long enough for custom pens. I was especially pleased with the rugged construction and heft despite what I considered a low price. Worth it.

Lock doesn't stay locked

The "finish" is pretty rough for what it's supposed to be, and needs to be sanded and re-stained.I knew it had the company stamp under the lid when buying it (not a fan of that) planned on lining the inside of the box so no issue.If I was expecting to use as is, without planning to do work on it , I would have been disappointed. Mainly bought it because of the type of wood, and it's thick enough to sand and polish down.

Excellent craftsmanship! The lock and key works perfectly for secure locking, and it can stay closed without being locked too making it grate for dresser top daily storage or a home safety deposit box. Looks high end too. A great deal! Great price. Thank you very much

The key seems to be made of plastic instead of metal I disliked that.
