Now we can hear the doorbell.
It’s really just plug and play. HB does not register it and you actually cannot pair it to HB, if you try adding it as a device you’ll just keep getting errors about wrong serial number and told to make sure that you’ve got all 4 corners when you scan the QR code. This actually made me look really hard at the QR code, the corners are kind of cut off, on both the device and the USB dongle. Each have a different serial number and both tell you that they’re invalid, I guess that’s fine since it doesn’t require pairing with Hubs to work, but you can’t register a warranty card (so no points for the purchase unless purchased through Eufy). Any way, that said it does indeed work. Bought so we can hear the doorbell, as the HB is downstairs and my household spends most of their time upstairs. Cameras no longer chime on phones when the doorbell’s rang, so this my solution. Very simple setup, plug in USB to HB put the chime together, plug into an outlet and press sync. Go in app choose the doorbell camera you want to use it with and choose indoor chime and then the rest should be self explanatory

Works only with battery doorbells and homebase 2 or 3 currently-up to four chimes can connect
This is an "add on" chime only that will only work with a homebase two or three unit in your eufy security setup. It creates things so that you will get a chime on your home base (possibly Alexa also) and at this unit as well simultaneously. My home base is in my room next to my internet router and this unit is plugged in elsewhere in the house because the one on the home base probably couldn't be heard all over the house. The chime connects to the system with a USB dongle that plugs into the back of the homebase unit. The box contains the correct power connector for several countries (US, UK, AU, EU) you just line up the notches and twist it on that's all the assembly there is. Note: I have a doorbell 340 which this works with but documentation in the box is outdated so if you've read someplace else that this works with your model of doorbell (but the box info says otherwise) then it probably does because they've released firmware updates etc. since what's in your box sat on the shelf. If you need a firmware update that is accomplished with the eufy security app. Most of the time once it sees a new device it will automatically offer the update but I did have one device where I had to go in the app and select firmware updates before I got the notification. Plug in the door chime to an AC outlet where you want it then second plug in the dongle in the usb A port on the back of the homebase 2 or 3. The home base three has two usb ports the top one has a blue inside which is usually high speed for data (you can plug in a thumb drive to offload video footage) so I used the bottom black usb A port for the chime dongle. The chime has buttons on the side to select the choice of chimes (8 choices) and volume. So install chime first, dongle second, when you enter the app setup it will tell you to press the sync button on top of the device and it will chime once and the light on front will turn blue (I don't know if you have to sync it again if you unplug it I hope not). Documentation says that one usb dongle will support up to four chimes but it doesn't appear you can buy the chimes separate from the dongle they only come in packs with one of each which is ok I suppose in case your dongle goes bad or gets damaged or lost because you'll have more available to use. It doesn't appear that you can expand the choice of chimes you just get the built in 8 that it arrives with. I've had this going a for a few weeks works flawlessly, my internet went down the other day and I was amazed to hear the doorbell ring when the repairguy arrived, apparently because the homebase creates its own private wifi network the doorbell at the very least can still operate if your internet access is out of order. I have my doubts that cameras or anything else would work but I don't own any cameras yet to test with, I plan to get a few cameras soon.

1 year later I’m buying 2 more
I gave away my $800 Arlo security system so that I could switch to a Eufy Security system. I won’t even begin to explain how amazing Eufy's Clean and Security both are because I’d have to write a novel. I had an unused newer version of the Eufy doorbell Chime that I wanted to pair with the HomeBase 3 and the Eufy chime add on doorbell speaker I purchased. I have the HomeBase 3 in my bedroom, my newer chime in a hallway and the chime add on in my Backyard/BBQ Area. My current doorbell speaker setup always me to hear if someone is at the front door no matter where I am inside or outside of the house. The HomeBase 3 has a much louder speaker than the two chimes I'm using but even if you're just using 1 or 2 chimes they are plenty loud unless you have a large house or are hard of hearing. I do prefer the newer version of the Chime because of the choices for doorbell chime noices but the older add on chime has several choices that aren’t bad if you don’t mind not having seasonal doorbell chimes. I purchased add on chime a few Christmas's ago and I have not had any issues and I'd guess I never will because I have about a few thousand dollars worth of Eufy devices and have not had any hardware issues. I should also mentioned that Eufys customer service is amazing. I scrapped my Arlo security system because I had a faulty hub and their integration with my smart home hardly ever worked. Eufy on the other hand works almost seamlessly with both Homekit and Alexa platforms. The one small issue with Eufy is that I've had to wait for the home kit integrations a few times but that's more of an issue with Apple being stringent about bring devices or features into there ecosystem.

Terrible device
Terrible device that has no clear instructions. It says you can use it without home base, while there is no way to connect it to the bill directly. Save your money and time and buy from a good brand. I had it with Eyfy. The photo is showing the instructions to install inside the app.

Loud, easy to connect, useful for large homes
We live in not a large home, but a tall one. The chime for the doorbell is 2 floors down and can easily be missed. We missed a couple rings with our new Eufy doorbell, and this was our first thought/solution. Let's be clear, this works as intended. It is loud, it is easy to set up (very easy, essentially plug and play), and definitely chimed every time the bell was rang. It even has a select number of options for how you want it to sound. But this is expensive for what it is. I was a little bummed that the bundle of the homebase and doorbell I bought did not come with a chime extension. But that's a personal problem. I did find that I had enough Amazon echoes laying around that I could make them my chimes and they work just as well. I can't really justify spending the money when something that most people already have will work just as well.

Works perfectly with my doorbell cam and extends listening range for when my packages get delivered and they take the time to ring the bell.

Fácil de configurar con HomeBase 3. No tiene mucho alcance (4m) pasando por muro y entrepiso.

Exactly what I was after. It was super easy to set up and provides better coverage of the house when someone is at the front door. Works well and very fast postage.
