So far so good and quiet as well
I purchased the 4Tb drive (formatted size 3.63 Tb) to replace a WD one that stopped working a couple of days ago and this to me highlights the most important requirement of a portable drive in that it needs to be reliable. Unfortunately when you buy one of these drives you don’t know how reliable or how long it will last. The WD drive that failed was just over 3 years old and had spent most of its life in a case, I also had a Seagate drive that was older and used much more and is still going which is why this time I went for another Seagate. Only time will tell if I made the right decision, but over the last 24 hours or so I have copied over 2.5 Tb’s to the drive so it has been writing solidly for that period without any issues which is a good sign. The write and read speeds seem to be in line with my other similar drives but it very much depends on what you are reading/writing as writing a single large file will be quicker that writing several small files totaling a similar size. The drive is also very quiet which is good, so at the moment I am pleased with the drive and hope I will continue to be for years to come.

I never buy anything other that Seagate
I always buy Seagate portable HDD's, I never see the point in changing once I find something that it reliable, and I have never had a Seagate drive fail on me within 5 years or more.I already have a 4TB connected to my Blu-ray player which has all my films and series on in 1080 (and lower), and another 2TB (with the faceted enclosure) connected to my Mini-PC as extra storage. I needed a new one as I just bought a new OLED 4K TV and as I do not intent to buy a UHD player I needed a drive to put 4K content onto so that I could watch them in all their glory.I've never ordered a One Touch drive though and so when this arrived I was really surprised as to how slim and how light it is. Seriously lighter than my other 2TB portable, so much so that I suspected it may in fact hold an SSD. I had to check on the box and on Amazon to be assured that it is in fact a normal HDD.Of course these come with a 2 year warranty, I always make a point of registering these drives with Seagate.I did have an issue (first time ever with a Seagate), in formatting it in Windows 10. I never keep the software on these things, I back up all my stuff to at least two other drives on my main PC so I simply do a fill format (not quick) the drive in Windows and then make my folder tree. However on this occasion after 2 minutes Windows told me it failed to complete the format. The result was that the drive was no longer available in Explorer so I had to go into Disk Management and disconnect/reconnect the drive. Once it was available in there I deleted the drive and created a new simple volume from there. Even then it took longer than is usual for it to create, but it did create it and it seems to be fine now. I have no idea why it did this.

Works straight out of the box on OSX 10.13
Connected to 2011 iMac running OSX 10.13 using the supplied cable, recognised instantly and copies files with the usual Mac drag and drop. Could not be any easier. My old Seagate 500GB is still working after many years and will stay in use until it drops but this one has 4 times the capacity and an additional backup is always welcome. Great price on Prime Day as well. Well pleased.

Something wrong
This drive is recognised by my computer and appears to work perfectly, but not by my home cinema system. I connect it via USB and ... nothing. According to my TV, there is nothing connected to the USB drive. This does not happen with any of the other external drives on which I store mp4 videos. I have tried using another USB cable (from a drive that is recognised) and... still nowt.I can't be bothered to replace it, so I will simply buy one from another manufacturer, copy the videos across to that, and use this hard drive for storing other data.Shame, because it was a great price.

Rubbish - Not USB 3 supported
I purchased this as an expansion drive for my Xbox. I plugged it into my PC and it powers up but would not open any drive info or folder. After a few attempts, still no joy. I then plugged this into my USB 2 and all of a sudden it worked!? I decided to format the drive to see if this would help, but no.USB 2 = working.USB 3 = Wont work.I can also see others having issues, so my advice is - Avoid!

NOT 4tb
I haven't used the drive yet so can't say how good it is but I can say that it is not a 4tb drive. As you can see in the photo, I am missing almost 400gig. That's quite a lot to be missing!!!I tried formatting it to see whether there were any large hidden files but no. Still the same capacity.Very disappointed.

Great. Bought Three for different purposes.
Bought two of these for media to plug into smart TVs and another to use as an external drive for my Mac Mini. I needed to do the media files on a Windows machine in NTFS but the Mac just recognised it and started using it without an issue. No problems so far and I will update this review if I get any. It is small - like a half pack of playing cards. The connection cord is a little short, if I was being picky but the price is excellent and the performace is great for my needs. No issues with playing the media and none with the Mac or Windows connections.

Good device
I've had this for several months now, it's half full. The initiating process does slow down setting up to work on my pc but I've got used to that now and I allow an extra five minutes by doing something else. I've dropped it a few times and it's fallen out of its socket but everything is still there. Happy with it.
