Q: How do I install this to my subwoofer which has built in amplifier?

On back of srereo there will be rca plugs that say output. Connect those to the input rca on diyi amplifier then connect out rca on diyi amplifier to the rca connectors that lead to your amp.

Q: Does this amplifier increase volume?

In a way it does but you have to set the max output on you speaker amplifier first basically this is a volume control to turn it up or down so slightly increase the gain on your speaker amp and plug this in I have 2 of these in my car and I can tell you something they are definitely worth it just for the few songs what don't require a lot of bass you can just simply turn the dail instead of changing the setting on your radio.
