Awesome clamp set for bench holes.
Great product. Saw it recommended on a YouTube how to related to the Black & Decker Workmate line. Chose the "slow boat" shipping and it arrived just as I expected!

Strong Clamp
Works great with my B&D workmate 425 and with anything with a half inch hole as far as that goes.

Good idea but doesn't work as promised.
Received today and, disappointedly, I will be returning them. They arrived very quickly, thanks to the exceptional Amazon service. Two clamps in a plastic bag with no details or instructions on product and how to effectively use!Searched Silverline website, show the product but no info. General search resulted in plenty of product pictures but still no info.So as a retired engineer I decided to appraise the clamp myself.Looks substantial and materials seem ok. Must work by clamp stem going through worktop, then screw the bottom back onto the stem. The clamp will work by releasing the Cam and holding the bottom section from underneath the worktop, screw or utilise the quick-release to bring the clamp top onto the work-piece to be held, final tightening by closing Cam to lock the clamp. On first trial it does screw up to work-piece but even with Cam lock it is not very secure, Trialled various thickness's, ensuring their was a suitably sized slave piece under the non work-piece end of the clamp. The results were always the same, fastened but not secure enough to work on the work-piece. If you try very hard to tighten clamp to a secure lock, you will strip the thread on the ratchet pieces that provide the quick release function. I believe it has been designed for a price point rather than function. They have a nearly product! Lot of promise but no cigar.

Does the job
Once I worked out how to use them, they were great. For some reason there are no instructions either with the clamps or on the Manufacturers' website. They are made of hard plastic, so probably more suited to the occasional amateur such as myself, rather than to a pro (who would probably have a steel holdfast anyway). For the record this is what you do:1. Squeeze the release tabs on the bottom collar and pull it off.2. Put the fat black plastic screw through an appropriate hole in the bench.3. Push the collar up hard from below the bench onto the thread - it makes a ratchet noise.4. With the top lever in the release position, fit the curved jaw on top of the workpiece.5. Tighten the collar by screwing by hand under the bench.6. Pull the lever to clamp the piece. You may need to adjust the collar position iteratively.

Not profession quality but ok for certain DIY jobs.
Item arrived in a timely manner and with very basic packing inside Amazon box. The item packed in a thin plastic bag with absolutely no instructions for use, so not good if your are not used to this type of clamp, which could cause injury or ruin the clamp. The clamps are made of plastic and are not of professional or trade quality but adequate for certain occasional DIY use. The clamps have spring collets for easy use in fixing to Workmate type devices and removal with wheel type tightening screws for securing. These being of plastic, not hard wearing nylon makes them wear or strip very easily if severe force is applied. Secret is not to brutally tighten but to ensure they are tight and use if possible a pair or more depending on size of workpiece. The cam lock will do the rest.I was disappointed with my purchase as I thought they would be of a least trade standard but Rory to say they are not. I keep them for use on my home workmate whilst they still have some life in them.Would not recommend for trade or professional use. Some redesign work on materials would be beneficial even if more expensive.

Workbench Clamp Everyone Needs
If you have standard holes in you workbench these clamps are so so useful, i actually bought these many years ago (about 8 years ago) and have never seen them sold anywhere else and thought i would never see them being sold anywhere..Until i came across them almost accidentally in Amazon. The previous clamps i bought still work today and are quick and simple to use and of course are strong..So i needed an extra set Thanks Amazon.!

Work piece clamped down firmly so safe to work on it.
These clamps are amongst the most useful items in my tool kit. A corresponding sized hole is required in the working surface, workmate or table. Once the clamps have been locked down onto the work piece, both hands are then free to manage the tools safely. This is particularly useful in a small workshop where space is at a premium.I have them in semi-permanent use on a trolley to hold down the bandsaw which is mounted on a board.( I call it the bandwagon)! These can then be released and similarly replaced with the router table which is kept on the lower deck of the bandwagon.Very useful, highly recommended.
