I purchased two of these pans in hopes of achieving a really nicely uniform 8" round layer. Then during my first use of these pans I actually decided to make 3 tiers for my granddaughters fondant Birthday cake, and the results were stunningly perfect! We typically wash things before we use them and with this product, after the initial wash, had black dust residue we could not get rid of. Wound up returning and purchasing a stainless steel version - no issues.
