insightful wit - definitely not a novel and way too cool for school! Which personality type are you?
I am SO INXP! Well, add a touch of this and a dash of that, season with sugar and cayenne peppers, a little laughter and stir well! I vary in temperament depending on situational variables, but tend to be the classic INFP with my dark side, INTP, visible as a big spot on the midnight moon. Caution: This Is Hilarious. INFP? That's Introverted, Intuitive, Feeler-Perceiver to YOU! Actually I've committed wrongful over-simplification, so get the book already, it's great. Don't know anything about this stuff? Look up Meyers-Briggs Personality....Google! Take a short (free) quiz somewhere online and well, get the book. It's light and fun and one can begin anywhere within the book one wants to. No bookmarker handy? No big deal. Just open the book at random, you'll see.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 of 1 people found this helpful: NOBODY found this helpful! Thus I will try to create a more detailed review. I am disappointed that someone got nothing from my initial review, thus I'd better revise it. I've tried something a little more objective and informational. I hope it is educational and inspires interest in this worthwhile, unique, and witty peek into how funny (and different) people are, and not one of the sixteen types is spared! I have been interested in this field for, well, most of my life. This book is based on the popular 16 personality types from the (Jungian) Meyers-Briggs. The sixteen basic personality types come from the styles we employ in our everyday living as we interact with other people and how we approach situations, where each personality shines, and the weaknesses inherent along with the strengths. It is postulated that one is either an "Introvert" or an "Extrovert," (I or E), because some of us need their own space at least some of the time or they feel overwhelmed and even miserable because the constant presence of others wears them down, (Introverts) but some people really get a charge by having others around as much as possible and thrive at cocktail parties, informal parties, surround ourselves with friends, etc, so the loner is not unhealthy, neither is the PEOPLE person, (Extrovert), they just have differing styles. Then, see how we apprehend the world around us: mostly through one's general intuitions (Intuitive) OR one's input from one's five senses: sight, sound, number, texture, temperature, smell, and so on. (Sensory) The first type is designated as an "N" and the sensory guys are designated, "S."The last part of the four-letter personality typology indicates how we go about our general decision-making. We are either a "J" or a "P." We can observe, surmise, decide and that's how we like it, but the P (perception) lives more for one's overall impression, and can change her mind at any time, and often does. If new things about a person, situation, story, report, or evidence varies, the Perceiver rolls with the punches and is open to reconsider, counts life as fluid, rather than concrete and fixed. Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert? I / E:Intuitive or Sensory? N / S:Rely mostly on the mind and facts, or the general collection of perceptions? Thinker / Feeler. T / FFinally, how do we make up our minds? The fourth and last of the four two-value axes is How we make our decisions most of the time: J / P.(Military personnel, interestingly, often turn up as ESTJ).The BOOK does a MUCH better job than my butchery here - it's also as funny as hell ACCURATE, uncanny. Very illuminating and entertaining way to learn more about yourself and everybody else. It's pretty easy to find and take the Myers-Briggs questionnaire online and free of charge, then see if you think it describes you, and find out about other people of the same type. I think it worthwhile and fun.I am an exception in that I am rather rare - I am usually mostly the INFP, but sometimes I operate as an INTP. Sometimes I assess, I absorb, I go on. INTJ. I put much stock in what I can directly perceive, but process that as just a part of my overall Perceptions.ME? INXP, INXX, but the older I get, the stronger I score INFP. I am the Idealist type. I found and purchased a small, thin book about the INFP, and I liked what I saw in the Mirror, so to speak. It's nice to like one's self. I value ALL kinds of people, though. People are cool. Each type (of the 16) gets its own section, and one can take the typology quiz online - the author wants to illuminate, equalize and entertain. We are all just people. Some types are fairly rare, are you? Read this book cover to cover or skip around, and it is still coherent, entertaining and insightful. This is the best typology book I've ever seen. Prepare to be toasted and roasted!

A fun little book that leaves you wanting more writing from Priebe
I got this book because I loved Heidi Priebe's other book, The Comprehensive ENFP Survival Guide. Heidi is an ENFP, as am I, and that book is an amazing, fun and informative resource specifically tailored solely to that personality type. As I mentioned on my review for that book, it is hands-down my favorite ENFP book and because of this I simply had to get Ms. Priebe's new personality book, too."How You'll Do Everything" is a very different book from Priebe's other work, primarily as it does not revolve around one type, but instead is a shorter work which touches on each type, in brief snippets. Not only is "How You'll Do Everything" shorter and more broad in it's scope, it also is a bit less serious in tone. This isn't to say the information is invalid, but it does give off a more continuous "humorous horoscope" sort of vibe, where each tidbit of each type in each section of "things to do" is presented in a goofy, tongue in cheek sort of way. Priebe's "The Comprehensive ENFP Survival Guide" has plenty of laugh out loud moments, but it's possible that the horoscopey-tidbit style of this book is what makes me feel it doesn't take itself as seriously. That said, both books are prefaced by some very interesting sciencey sections which are a lay-person friendly reminder that Priebe has a degree in Psychology and has been studying personality profiles, and their people!, for awhile. :-)Like Priebe's other work, I really enjoyed this one, and it definitely has set me up to be a fan that will look out for her next books, but this one is not my favorite of the two. In part, honestly, because I am an ENFP and her other book - the whole thing - was written by someone like me *for* someone like me! It went into a lot more depth than this shorter book could hope to do when it covers *all* the personalities *and* is shorter in length. For what it is, and for her fun and insightful writing, I like this book, but its brevity leaves me wanting another book by Priebe that feels less like a Cliffs Notes version of itself. For that reason I feel it is more of a 4/5 stars, rather than a 5+ stars like her other book. Maybe next time! And I will be there for the next time! :-)So, yes, I recommend this book, but furthermore, if you are an ENFP you must read her "The Comprehensive ENFP Survival Guide" as Priebe weaves a smart, fun read that makes you feel like she knows you!Hope this helps and best of luck!

Cool, Funny,Intriguing Book!
This fun book by author Heidi Priebe is engaging, full of facts about each personality type, and very true. I was laughing at many of the situations some of the 16 Meyers Briggs Personality Types were described in, and at their imagined choices and reactions. However, this book is never cruel and doesn't play favorites, even if the author is herself an ENFP.I took 4 or 5 tests online to see which personality type I am before I read this book. It isn't necessary to do that, however, because the author has provided a quick test right at the beginning of the book so that you, the reader, can figure out "what you are" with no difficulty. That is, assuming your S.O. has left the book out on the bedside table, and is busy taking a shower.Wait...that is also assuming your S.O. has halfway decent cleanliness habits and takes a long enough shower. That's Heidi's joke. She says it way more amusingly. Read this charming book and have some fun--you deserve it! And nah, I am not going to tell you which personality type I am! I enjoyed spotting a few of my family members and my best friend and I am not going to tell them, either! Let them find themselves!

Shorter than I though, quick fun read
It was a cute and quick insight into the different personality types. Not as much as I would have hoped for though.
