SOG quality! Top notch. Sharp blade that holds its edge well. Very sharp. Not for children. I recommend at least 14 - 15 years old. This is an adult's tool. It is beautiful. Well made. Feels smooth - no sharp edges or corners to catch on your pocket. Excellent value. I also have his much bigger brother. Easy to use. I like the lock that either locks it closed so it can't accidentally open OR locks it open to keep it from accidentally close while using it.

What a durable, well built, lightweight, little knife! This thing rocks! I’ve carried this knife for a while now. Its been my main knife in the Army and I have absolutely abused it. It was run over by a HUMVVY and it barely got a scratch on it! I sharpen this thing on rocks and sidewalks as well as chopped branches with this little guy and he still delivers. Great knife for the cost!

I'm always in the market for a handsome pocket knife, but when I wanted to upgrade my every-day-carry, I went with this one. Let me break it down: -Wooden applique is made from a real hardwood, and has an attractive grain/finish. Obviously its not as durable as the other metal options for this knife, but it will hide minor wear and tear better than other materials. -Spring opening mechanics for this knife are nifty. I like using the back 'switch' rather than the thumb studs, adds a little unique flair over typical pocket knives. One compromise to this mechanism is that it takes two hands to close. Also, the safety switch seems a little useless to me, but it does work very well. -The pocket clip isn't too bulky, and is on the opposite end as most other knives I've had. However, I decided to remove it (I like the look and feel better). I don't recommend doing this unless you have some handy precision tools laying around. The screws that hold it on are too long to put back by themselves. I had to cut/file them down to make them shorter... tricky work. -The blade came extremely sharp, but I can't speak to its hardness yet (I've only had it for a little). AUS-8 stainless steel has a pretty high carbon content, and is a little harder than 440A stainless steel (used in many pocket knives). So, it should stay sharper for longer. Overall impressions are very good. I really like the weight and size. It seems well engineered and assembled. One tip for cleaning, don't take this knife apart. I did and once I noticed that the spring around the pivot point could easily come uncoiled, I quickly aborted that mission. Instead, use a q-tip to get the pocket lint out.

It's pretty with the rosewood scales, it's a useful size and it's fidget-friendly. It fits into a fifth pocket easily (the change pocket on your jeans). I deducted one star because AUS8 is a mediocre steel at $50--it sharpens easily, but it's malleable and dulls pretty quickly. The knife flips open reliably and is sharp out of the blister pack. It's a cool knife and I've added it to my daily carry rotation...I wanted a small knife that's roughly equivalent to my Spyderco Dragonfly, and the Twitch II fits the bill. A good sub-3" knife, all around...it does 90% of what I've come to expect from a 4" blade.

Update: After ~9 months and many, many "kicks", the kicker spring broke. I'm told SOG is great about fixing them for free, but I like the knife so much that I hate to give it up while it's shipped and being fixed... So, that and the lack of repair instructions so I could a order a replacement spring and fix it myself results 2 stars knocked off the rating. A minor quibble: The thumb knob which I now use to open the blade became loose. Based on a kindly review comment by Practical Desk re: adjusting the blade side-play issue, a bit of Locktite Blue solved that problem. I've used a stone on it 3 or 4 times. Setting up the Lanskey so it misses the thumb knobs isn't to difficult. Tip: Use a diamond etcher to mark the correct position of the Lanskey blade clamp after you get it setup correctly to make it easier & quicker the next time. ----- I've favored Buck and Gerber knives in the past but after carrying the Twitch II everyday for 5 months, it's the best knife I've ever owned and well worth the $39 price. The best stuff: The kicker. Like others have said, it's very convenient and addictive! I initially thought it might readily gum-up but it very seldom does. A fast/easy cleaning restores the kicker to like new functionality the few times the kicker lost some of its kick. The steel- it takes a good edge and keeps it- I've not had to use a sharpening stone. A fast touch-up on a strop and occasionally a Case Moon Stick is all it takes to keep it really sharp. As a data points: It seems to keep an edge at least 3 times longer than the last two knives I've carried- the Gerber 22-41492 EVO Jr. Fine Edge Knife and Gerber 22-41122 STL 2.0, Fine Edge Knife . The steel also seems better in these regards than the old/better Buck knives pocket knives. Keys and coins don't get entangled with the Twitch since it's back, unlike the Gerbers, is almost entirely closed. This is important since I carry the Twitch in my pocket. BTW, the clip is easily removed but you'll need a #6 torx driver. Very shallow choil (i.e. the edge runs almost to the handle) yields more edge and lighter weight. Downside is that it makes sharpening with a guide type gizmo like the Lansky Deluxe 5-Hone Sharpening System a bit more difficult to setup so that it misses the thumb pivots. The blade lock is well designed. It would be very difficult to accidentally release the blade while using the knife. The handle finish has held up much better than I expected- just a few inconspicuous dings on the narrow part of the fore and aft ends of the handles. Minor quibbles: The sliding safety gizmo that one can engage to either keep the blade from opening or to lock the blade lock is a hassle to operate. I quickly ceased using it. Haven't had the blade unintentionally open or, more importantly, close but have had the safety get engaged while banging around in my pocket. I'll try to disable or remove this gizmo if I ever dissemble the knife. The thumb opening studs are useless to me since the kicker much easier to use and is so reliable. There's a bit of sideways play in the blade. I reckon it's a tradeoff which permits the kicker to be so reliable. If so it's a acceptable tradeoff. There's also some vertical play but not enough to be of consequence to me. No instructions on disassembly. It (well, more precisely, reassembly) is said to be difficult

I really like this knife. It has great build quality, I like the feel of the knife. Sides are a coated so it is hard to realize that is is aluminum. The lock mechanism is the key, it is a lock back with a lock mechanism. A safety feature you can use when the blade is open. The blade opens easily, it is spring assisted, but a soft spring. A drop of oil, helps it to open easier. Only cut paper with the blade which is AUS-8, the edge is sharp, don't know how long it will last. SOG this twitch is a good one. Addition: love the locking mechanism, because it can also be used when the blade is retracted, so it cannot be opened accidently, it is now my everyday carry.

Unachtsame können dabei vom Stift abrutschen versehendlich in die sehr scharfe Klinge packen. Empfehle zum Öffnen den Flipper zu benutzen. * Messer hat Lockback Sicherung * das Messer hat eine Schiebe-Sicherung hinter dem Lockback-Riegel, die ein unabsichtliches Öffnen des Messers verhindert * Das Messer ist nicht Waffengesetzkonform und darf in Deutschland nicht 'geführt' werden.
