Healing Your Aloneness: Finding Love and Wholeness Through Your Inner Child – Reconnect with Your Loving Adult to Resolve Fears and Build Nurturing, Satisfying Relationships Review: Amazing Book: A Must Read! - This book is amazing! It is a true gift. I was so ready to read this book and have benefited from it by understanding myself. But the greatest benefit this book has given me was help me become reconnected to myself and not dependent on outside sources for love. I haven't finished reading the book yet but have gained so much from it. This book so so insightful and powerful! You will definitely benefit from it by better understanding yourself and feeling peace and joy! Review: The book that I have been waiting for. - This is THE book I have been waiting to find. It explains a whole lot of what's been going on inside of me and it is a gem. There is much underneath the cover of this book, there are volumes! This book provides guidance to learning to understnad your inner workings and why you feel confused and lonely as you do. For me, it is a feeling of intense anxiety. Anxiety and anger, and sleepiness, are 3 intense traits that the Inner Child, which has been asleep or locked away, feels and undergoes when it has been abandoned and judged by the inner critical parent. Exercises are presented for the goal to achieve a balanced unified peaceful inner system within. Adult Children of Alcoholics will benefit because they tend to lack a loving inner parent and they therefore need to 'reparent' their inner child. Ideas such as promoting trust within yourself is introduced, and the benefits are outlined - phenomenal benefits to one's health if one follows this system of work.

Just say yes to yourself and the love you deserve. It comes from only one place...
This book saved my life. It allowed me to reconnect with myself on a deeper level and truly listen to the small voice within. There is much that we can attend to and heal if we would only take the time to learn and listen. If we simply take the time to understand why we feel and do the things we do. If we only knew the power that understanding holds. By loving ourselves and who we are, we allow ourselves to heal and move forward. Let go of the burdens of pain we carry because we misunderstand our own struggles. I hope that you will read and find hope and practical advice to heal your self and your life. You deserve it.

Where were you 30 years ago Margaret?
Sometimes you read a review and wonder. This is the 1st review I've ever given a book. I've been searching for something that spoke to me and the section "unloved child;" well, it made me cry. I had to read it three times to really absorb all of it. This book is not a fast read on any level, if you're serious about really healing your heart. I had no clue how messed up I am until I got this book. I knew I was struggling, but could never put my finger on it until now. I have a paperback as well as kindle edition on my phone when on the go. Thankfully, I'm only an addict of TV!!! :) It made so many things more clear for me and allowed me to be more forgiving with myself, plus more aware of what I'm saying, doing, acting and the true reasons as to why... I always knew that my parents where doing how they were taught, but never did see clearly what it was doing to me until now. If you really want to give your emotional self a hand up by your own adult hand, this book will help. Only read what you can handle in a sitting, don't force it. Good Luck!

LIFE CHANGING
Wonderful! After becoming a licensed therapist and having years of therapy myself, I found this book (as well as Inner Bonding) to be the missing pieces of the puzzle for me. I HIGHLY, highly recommend both of them. They've each been life-changing, teaching me to love and care for myself in the deepest most painful places from my history and move on to joy.

The internal dynamics of the adult/child relationship and how to mend from painful experiences and family dysfunction of childho
This book has been enlightening. The internal dynamics of the adult/child relationship and how to mend from painful experiences and family dysfunction of childhood, provide a clear path to recovery. Addictions are not limited to drugs, alcohol, sex, and gambling. Any behavior that you continually find yourself doing while knowing that it keeps you from the life you truly want can be an addiction. This book lets you understand why and what you can do to be free from your addictions and heal. I recently also purchased the companion workbook. Will be adding my review soon. The Healing Your Aloneness Workbook: The 6-Step Inner Bonding Process for Healing Yourself and Your Relationships

BRILLIANT
If you grew up in a normal household, with a happy, perfect family, and have little to no problems, you might not need this book. BUT if you grew up in a tumultuous household, with family that had issues and you have issues because of all of that, then DEFINITELY get this book. It will help to heal you. I can also recommend it to people who were molested (as I was) and for people who are dating/married/friends with people who have/had problems or family issues. It is a bit older but still relevant and helpful. May I also recommend FEELING GOOD: THE NEW MOOD THERAPY? Pick them up!

Great book
I’m very picky with the books that I read, if it’s not teaching me anything I move on. This is probably my top five mental health books. I sent a good 30 back. If you have an anXious attachment style I like myself, this book will be good for you.

Good read to get a hang of th concepts about integration with many real world examples. I seem to miss the concrete steps or exercises to bring about this integration. Something you can straightaway start off with. Overall a great read to start the journey towards integration.

Someone said in their review that they didnt know whay this book isnt a bestseller............I'd agree with that. This is an incredible book. For me it was like reading my biography. I've always felt like I had something missing, like I had this big gaping hole inside of me. I remember saying to my last girlfriend one night that I felt like something wasnt right, that even though she was there with me and in all likelihood, cared about me, I just didnt feel loved. And I knew it wasnt her fault, that there was something I needed to do for myself. I've read so many times about how you should love yourself, but this to me was a vague concept, I just didnt know how. But this book is like a roadmap to loving yourself. If you feel lonely, disconnected, or lost in the world, like you dont know who you are or what you want, then read this. And persist, keep doing the work, everyday. It will happen, you will connect with your inner being. It has nothing to do with another person, dont chase others in the hopes that they will love you, they wont, or at the very least, you wont feel that love until you do it first for yourself.

Everyone on this big planet of ours should take the time to read this book. This had a profound effect on me from the first page. I've purchased the workbook and will continue to reread it as time and my own personal growth progresses. It is very well written. The examples are clear and visceral. The language and dialogue are believable. I was captivated by the authenticity of the case study examples. I'll be sure to write a review of the workbook once it arrives.
