A very cool looking frig. I have the black and it is super tall, way taller than a traditional fridge. There is a lot of space in both the fridge and freezer portions, it's a bit unconventional the layout. The doors seal very well and it is a quiet motor. The shelving and inner doors are done very well. The items in the fridge and freezer stay at it's temperature well, I don't hear the unit popping on and off all the time. I took one star off due to value for the price. It is when I got it, around $3K US. There are othe comparable units that are significantly less expensive that do the same trick and made just as well. I'm not familiar with the SMEG brand and haven't a hard time justifying the cost.

SMEG's reputation for top design and high quality manufacturing shines through in this Retro-Style Refrigerator. Most refrigerators are boxy and functional (and look very similar to each other) but this SMEG offers much much more. Their attention to detail shows through in the way the doors open and close, the feel of the surface, down to the design of the handles and hinges. Inside is a generous amount of storage space for all your fruits, vegetables and drinks. You have plenty of room to store drinks on the side door or in the main compartment. The side lighting offers a different way to look at your food. And if you leave the door open to long the lights will put on a show and start to blink at you. This SMEG fridge is sturdy and powerful yet not overly heavy and easy to place and install. Light and powerful, that's how you know high quality manufacturing. One person can wiggle it into position in a pinch. The freezer portion is segmented into three drawers, so you're not digging through piles of frozen food in a deep draw like most fridges. It cools food and freezes them fast, there is even express freeze or cooling functions at your disposal. One note is that this fridge has unique dimensions, being narrower and taller than standard fridges. So make sure you place it where your friends and family can admire it. And trust me, you will get non-stop compliments and probably a few jealous stares. It's not the biggest fridge out there, so if you have a large hungry family and you can't go shopping regularly this might not be the fridge for you. But for those of you who want to splurge a little, showcase some top quality design flair in the most important room in your home, you can't beat a SMEG fridge. And this red color that I got stands out. It has what I call, a contemporary classic look, and it's perfect for the holidays, Valentines, and really any time of the year. I love my SMEG!!!

I was really excited to receive this retro style refrigerator, and it did not disappoint. It is definitely unlike any fridge I have owned or even seen before. The red is a bright, vibrant cherry red and looks absolutely beautiful in our basement. It immediately stands out in the best way. The design is very slender but tall, which took me a little by surprise at first since I am used to wider refrigerators. That said, it actually works perfectly for our space. This fridge is ideal for a themed area. We plan to turn our basement into a movie theater style space, and this fits that vision perfectly. The interior is very spacious for its size. It has three shelves, two pull out drawers, and three additional shelves on the door. We use it mainly as a second fridge for extra drinks and food, and it has been great for that purpose. Everything stays very cold and fresh. There are several settings at the top. I will admit I was a bit confused by them at first aside from the alarm, but despite that, the cooling performance has been excellent. The freezer is also different from what I am used to and includes three pull out drawers. Each drawer is surprisingly roomy and works well for storing extra frozen food. This would not work as a main fridge for our family of six, but it is a beautiful and functional addition for a themed basement, a bonus room, or for one to two people as a primary fridge. I personally love everything about it and would absolutely recommend it for the right space.

Owned for a year and a half and it stopped cooling food in fridge, then in freezer. Although the part was under warranty ,it took forever to get it (due to covid?), and now the computer board is shot. Total cost to me for the repair is roughly $2,000. I will never buy anything made by Smeg Again. DO NOT BUY THIS!
