Do they do the job? Absolutely
I bought these to hopefully get me a video link from a place where cabling would be impossible. To be frank, I was doubtful it would work. So many transmitter/receiver systems make crazy claims for range - and the 400ft, as in Hollyland 400 usually mean, on a good day, with the sun in the sky and a following wind - typical. However, in this case I connected the transmitter to the power supply, and the receiver scanned the channels, found it, and displayed the picture with no bother. 3 floors up, and going through concrete walls - from the stage in a big theatre to the company office in the dressing room area. NOT 400ft, but not remotely an obstacle free path. The units will power from the mains with adaptors (you get one, not two) or from Sony type batteries - the ones with the two pins on the charger and two holes in the battery pack. I have loads of these for all sorts of things, so I was going to use that, but discovered the Sennheiser radio receiver power supply fitted and worked fine. Plenty of those so all good. The receiver has HDMI and SDI outputs and I use the SDI normally as the latency is a little less. The transmitter uses SDI or HDMI the same way. I have mine set to auto scan, so powering up the transmitter produces output in about 30 seconds or so. I've connected them into my studio, and one camera now has the transmitter on it simply because it means no cable to get in the way. With SDI connections, the latency is around 250ms - which I can live with. You do notice lip sync is wrong, but it's of course a little worse with HDMI - as the encode and decode delay on HDMI is a bit worse. I do quite a lot of theatre shows where there is a roving camera, and this system works really well for that. I have to say I'm impressed.

Cheap, but works
Works really, carries a decent distance and through walls.

Wasn't able to achieve the advertised specs
Don't get me wrong, these work perfectly, the quality of the image and sound is perfect. The range seems great, it never broke or lowered the quality once based on distance. However I was only able to get the latency down to about 0.2 - 0.25 seconds Even when on the optimal modes. Which, I know doesn't sound like a lot. But when using it as a roaming camera for a multi-cam livestream, this is enough time that the lip-sync is out. So for a roaming camera at a live event, it will not match the other cameras without lag. This was advertised as a 0.06s latency, which would be perfect, but these do not achieve that.

A great piece of gear!
The media could not be loaded. The design is compact and the build quality is solid. Overall the units feel very robust. The system for a wide range of versatile setups for video shooters and content creators. We were almost able to achieve the advertised transmission distance in an open field but your mileage may vary if used indoors. The ability to stream on multiple devices is also very useful to have.

Wow! Small and a great performer
It’s really good to see professional level equipment has come down in price so that’s lots of content creators can afford it.The Mars 400 S pro from Hollyland is really impressive for the money. It adda only about three frames of latency to any that you might already have in your system. Also the range outdoors is around 115 m and I couldn’t test any further because I ran out of space!Great to see that you can also use your phone or tablet to monitor things via the HollyView App.Battery life with the large 970 type Sony batteries Is really impressive at about seven hours. And this is with non-original Sony batteries, if you use the original 970s you will probably get a lot more run time. It’s great that you can power it also via USB-C or the included power adapter. It can get a little warm and there is a built in fan to help but you can also turn it off if you are picking up the audio on your mics (although this will probably have consequences if you leave it off for a long time). All in all a nice little solution to wireless monitoring

Has poor latency
After researching the best ways of reducing the latency of the image I was never able to get anything close to the advertised 0.08 seconds which would've been usable. The best I could get was about 0.3 which is no good for focus pulling or lip sync. Other than that the product was great but not as advertised.

Excellent piece of kit for the price point
The Hollyland MARS 400S PRO is a top-notch device for professional use. The signal strength is impressive and people have noted its robustness. The range is also exceptional. The app connectivity feature is a real plus, having saved me in the past. There are multiple ways to power the transmitter and receiver, and the support for both HDMI and SDI input and output is appreciated. The only downside is the limited transmission to 1080p while 4k is becoming the norm. Additionally, I wouldn't trust it for latency from a focus puller's perspective, as Teradek is the go-to device, although five times more expensive. Overall, for monitoring purposes, the Hollyland MARS 400S PRO is excellent value for its price point. The metal body of the device feels solid and gives it a quality feel.

Good product
Great product but the antennas are a bit frail. Freezes when it gets hot. But overall good product
