Camelot Oracle: A Quest for Wisdom through the Arthurian World Paperback – Folded Map, November 1, 2012

I received this gem today and have spent a few hours asking various questions with it to get acquainted.At first it is very fun to use! You ask your question and get a helper archetype for your journey. Then you're posed a question which is a kind of clue in disguise on what you should do. You go to a cool place on this awesome paper map the deck comes with...and that offers you something for your journey. Finally you are given advice for your path. How fun is that?!But then...as I let the characters speak to me, and I did the meditations that are given...it got intense. This Oracle offers profound insight, guidance and even healing. And it's very easy to use if you follow the instructions in the book. It has a structure that needs to be followed as it's created to speak to the user in a certain way. I think if someone opened this, tossed the map aside and started pulling cards in their own way...the magic would be lost and then what's the point of trying to get detailed answers from it?If used as intended, this is a heavy hitter of a deck system. I don't say that lightly as I have a plethora of oracles already and just about every divination system you could think of. I highly recommend this to the serious seeker. It's warm and caring, but will not sugar coat what needs to be acknowledged.10 stars from me.

I am very pleased with these Oracle cards. The seller got them to be very quickly and was a delight to communicate with online. The cards are beautiful and included the book, it was never opened so they are even better than I could hope for. Hope to do business again with this seller

I bought this deck as a compliment to my Hallowquest journey I am planning with my Arthurian Tarot in 2023, so I have looked through the oracle but have not started working with it yet. It appears to be a well thought out oracle based on multiple Arthurian mythology stories. John, along with his wife Caitlin, have done years of research into the stories associated with King Arthur, Camelot and the Grail quests. As with their other projects this oracle looks like one to really dive into and I think whether you are really into Arthurian mythology or not you can get a lot out of this oracle. The cardstock seems of good quality, size is pretty standard oracle, guide book gives plenty of information to use the included map and cards as a "regular" oracle or to do deeper dives and journeying.

I was drawn to The Camelot Oracle because of its unique and masculine energy, which is atypical, compared to the many angels, fairies and positive affirmations oracles on the market. Those types of oracles never appealed to me, so, I was excited to give this unique oracle a go.When I first received the oracle deck and began to use it, I didn't connect with it, as a matter of fact, I found the system to be too complex and not very intuitive, compared to other divination tools that I use. I was ready to sell the deck on Ebay after trying to connect with it for about a day, with no connection. Then I realized that it's a different kind of system that must be adhered to, in order to connect with it. Thus, I read the included book which lays out well, the system and explains the archetypes and their attributes. After surrendering to the intent and instructions of the deck and system, I immediately began getting clear, profound and accurate guidance that has helped me move beyond my own roadblocks and restrictions.I would recommend this deck for those who don't mind taking the time to connect with the cards and do the inner work that it asks you to do, by reflecting and awaiting the answers it asks of you.

Interesting and definitely a completely different system than one would be used to seeing in an oracle deck. While it is packaged as a single deck, there are 32 character cards representing archetypes as your Champion or Challenger, and 7 cards representing the "paths" you would take. The third part of the Oracle is the map, with locations offering further advice. Will Worthington's illustrations are gorgeous and rich.The book is absolutely necessary if you plan on using this deck the way it's intended. It's an easy read with easily defined, illustrated sections. It also includes helpful sample readings. I personally really enjoyed the character back stories, plus the section in the end with a further list of characters that might interest a user of the Camelot Oracle. In terms of the physical quality of the product, it's mediocre. I purchased the product brand new, so it's probably just minor manufacturing issues. The book has a smashed in one corner on the spine, and what looks like black grease and creasing on a corner of the pages. Two of the cards are less than perfect, but still perfectly useable - one has a small ding in the corner, the other looks like it fell victim to an overzealous cutting machine (see pics). Otherwise, the box is hardy, the cardstock is sturdy, and the book has quality, thick pages and is bound well. I'd say be gentle with the map - it's standard paper and not laminated, so I'd imagine a lot of use can lead to tearing along the folds.

Der Autor John Matthews lässt uns durchdieses Orakel an seinem magischen Erfahrungsschatz teilnehmen.Das Camelot Orakel hat mich besonders angesprochen da es einen neuen Zugang zur Weisheit der Mysterien von KönigArthur und den Rittern der Tafelrunde bietet.

I love Will Worthington's images, and have many oracle and Tarot cards illustrated by him. This resonated with me as soon as I read about the Camelot Oracle, and I tested the readings on attendees of my monthly spiritual circle. They loved the adventure of going on a quest from Camelot with a champion riding beside them, and a challenger, which is the theme of all hero's journeys. The unravelling of the journeys taken unveiled deep meanings for them. I also shared a quest with my 10 year old grandson, and the meaning behind his question was understood by him immediately. He loved the adventure, as I have recently introduced him to the stories of Arthur and the Knights of the round table. A treasure. Thanks to Will and John for creating it.
