Great learning tool for early reading
I this as a resource for my students that I tutor. Not only other very easy to adjust. What helps students to break down different sounds and peace them together as they sound them out. The pieces are easy to take care of and a mess proof.

Makes a good set with their easy-to-read word game
I bought both products for my son who has autism. He is non-verbal, but echolalic and can read, as near as I can tell, at the kindergarten level. I like the cards because there are a variety of ways to use them (included in an accompanying instruction booklet). The cards are colorful and he likes that they fit together as a simple puzzle. They make a good set with other resources like their word game and dolch word flashcards. I have also created a set of photograph cards to play a matching game. For example, for the "bird" card, I have assembled a kit of cards with several varieties of birds (robin, blackbird, eagle, etc) which allows us to branch out a bit and mix it up.

Lots of Options
These cards are very nice. First off, they are thick and sturdy with a glossy front and back side with thick cardboard in the middle (like a real thick puzzle piece). The pieces fit well into each other and are fine enough for play. If you have a child that likes to stick pieces in their mouth, they may warp and become distorted. The color coding is not that big of a help with the cards, because the colors don't match with each other. It simply groups like items together. For example, all the s-word groups have green tabs on them, but that doesn't mean all the greens can fit with all the blues. I personally haven't found a way to maximize the color coded system with my son yet.My 5-year old and I play with them a lot, and they are versatile enough to make up your own word games with no problem. Since my son loves puzzles and he's learning how to read, these cards have been a great help. We have made up several of our own games with them, like telling stories, and spelling what word comes next like ad-libbing, or practicing rhyming words. He is enthusiastic about trying to best me in several games we play, and he has learned word group sounds much better in game form.

Engaging Way to Practice Phonics
Students love using this hands-on material to practice phonics. I was pleasantly surprised that the pieces are color-coded and can be sorted into specific phonics patterns so that I can differentiate lessons. Great buy!

It’s ok
Children need a lot of guidance with this. I thought there would be a control of error for the child to self-guide himself. But not really. It’s an ok product. I could’ve printed cards and done the same

I was looking for flash cards to help my 3 year old understand things like ing makes the same ending sound but the first letter or two changes the word. This did it. The cards are nice and thick to the won't crumple them and there are enough it will be easy to make single words or sentences when he gets bigger.

This is a great idea but I think is a little simple for third graders. I am actually using some of its with my 5 year old granddaughter. My grandson who is entering third grade in the fall feels like it is a little young for him. It depends on the level of reading the child has achieved.

Good word building activity
Students like this activity. My students use it to build words and they stay engaged in independent centers. I also use it during small group instruction. I like it.
