It does work
Works brilliantly, you do need to practice though. First few attempts at making a hat were a disaster, but perseverance pays off. Instructions are a little vague but workable. You can only make one design/pattern. It's enjoyable and provides value for money in a hat for the price of a ball of yarn. Just go slow for the first few rows, after that you can go a little quicker. Definitely much more than a toy !

great machine
great machine for any age not all yarn works for this machine but that is the same for most knitting machines would use a size 3 or 4 yarn, DK, worsted or aran type yarn

If You Already Have an Addi, Forget This Machine.
I bought this machine to make ear warmers. I have an Addi 46 pin machine which has worked straight out of the box and never failed me whatever the yarn but the ear warmers are too large. I bought this on the recommendation of a YouTube video specifically to make ear-warmers. It fails to pick up the stitches on the first row after cast on with the yarn supplied with the machine (which is only fit to use as waste yarn). On the one occasion I managed to make the machine pick up the stitches on the waste yarn and then on the yarn I wished to use, it randomly dropped stitches even though I was stopping to ensure stitches were under the pink pins. Buy an Addi. This is a toy (a frustrating toy) in comparison.. I had high hopes and was planning to buy the Sentro 48 but not now. I’m in the UK and our yarn choices seem rather limited compared to the USA where most of the YouTube tutorials come from. I really wanted this to work. Addi, please make a 50+ needle knitting machine plus one around the 40 needle size.

If you have got an addi, you may not like it.
It was very easy to put together. Its very lightweight. Wont use all yarns so dont bulk buy. Good for making hats scarfs, etc. For its price its very good, takes time to get used to it.

Not for the faint hearted...
Edit: I watched a few videos about the sentros - and one about cleaning it said not to overtighten the screws when reassembling, so, I took it apart and on screw 4 of 5 - as I turned it, I felt the whole machine 'give' so 1 screw was misaligned and over tightened. Its made a huge difference. Its still not as smooth as an Addi but it is better than it was. I'm an experienced knitter - including owning a 22 and 46 pin Addi circular knitting machines. Like many before me I'd like to plead with Addi to make a 40 pin machine (and a 52 while they're at it!) I really wanted a 40 pin machine but with Sentro the only option I've bought one despite every review saying its hard work compared to Addi. So: I have a smooth/varnished surface table and the plastic suction pads secure it to the table no problem but would not work on anything other than a very smooth surface. I have a huge stash of yarn but so far I've only found 2 synthetic, lightweight aran ones that come close to working. Better quality aran is too thick and double knit is too light. I've seen videos of people using screwdriver attachments to speed up knitting but I have no idea how that is even possible - this machine fights every stitch (less now, see edit) even with virtually no tension applied. It drops stitches at almost every row - so much so, that it would actually be quicker to hand knit. The quality of the finished knitting is fine and I can't tell the difference between the Sentro and and Addi. The lack of a built in row counter on the Sentro is a real issue and at over £20 to buy an add on, I'm not sure this machine justifies the additional cost. I will persevere but if you can afford an Addi - buy one, not a Sentro. As a toy (which it is marketed as) - all you'll get is tears and tangles - but perseverance has meant I have managed to get something useful out if it. I do wonder if the USA get a slightly better quality machine than the ones they sell in the UK...

This machine is very good for beginners and starting a business ,the instructions are nit as better as the YouTube tutorials so I do recommend watching YouTube for tutorials or instructions. Another recommendation is that size 40 isn’t big enough for adult heads it fits my teen’s head and my newborn’s head but won’t fit mine so I recommend to go ahead and buy 48 stitches so you can make any size with it. And another thing I did have to refund this items because my whole machine was shattered into pieces and it took 2 days for another one to come but other than that this is a very good product and it’s very easy too use,and if your thinking of buying pls too it’s a life changer I won’t be using a crochet hook in a while. Happy turning!!!

Soldi buttati
