Gaffer's doesn't stick to its own unglued side, and removes from stuff with no mess. Duct sticks to itself, and can leave a mess on some things if you remove it later. I keep both around for different uses.

True gaff tape.

This type of tape is used on sets, in workshops and for all sorts of tasks. It is made of a good quality fabric with appropriate adhesive. I don't know yet about the long term durability, but so far I'm very happy with the quality of this traditional tape.

I purchased it to hold down areas in my old carpet. I bought the color that match the rest of my carpet. It holds down really well if you weeks. It works great.

One of the selling points of gaff tape is that it does not leave adhesive residue when removed. This brand does not hold to that standard. Tape on wood floor, removed after 1 week, left adhesive on the flooring. It is easy enough to remove the adhesive with solvent, but that is not the point. This should not happen for quality tape.

I used these to tape down our delicate choir mic cables down to the green carpet. It was kept on for around 3 months and when we took it off to reposition the mics, it had really sticky white glue residue which was a nightmare to remove.

This is not gaffers tape! It left a thick, sticky, white glue residue behind on the floor when I removed it that I had to scrape off with a razor. Heating it just smeared it around.

Alors oui, il colle bien. Après, je l'ai laissé en place le temps d'un été puisque je l'ai utilisé comme finition de panneau fenêtre pour climatiseur. Lorsque je l'ai retiré en septembre, même doucement, la peinture de la fenêtre est partie! Donc ne faite pas comme moi, ce scotch hors de prix ne doit être utilisé que si vous l'enlevez rapidement après la pose. Ila laisser des traces de colle sur la partie plexiglass que je ne peux pas nettoyer avec du disolvant. Pas de trace de colle sur la partie fenêtre par contre.L'année prochaine, je reviens sur mon scotch à 4Euros le, rouleau!
