Review: BEST LIGHTWEIGHT STROLLER! - We purchased this stroller before our trip to Disney with our 3 year old because we wanted to have a quality lightweight stroller to use while facing crowds and nap times and we couldn't be happier! We have had several strollers including a Chicco and First Years and this one is by far the best. My daughter is very tall for her age and in other strollers her legs are far too long and she ends up constantly dragging her feet which drives mommy crazy and in the Maclaren the height was no problem she was comfy and maneuvering it through busy crowds was fabulous! The only complaint I have is the basket below is hard to get in and out of so I suggest packing light and definitely ordering 2 cup holders. Would definitely recommend!! Review: Four Stars - Nice stroller and very light... Does not recline! I bought the wrong one, but this one is really nice.

You can find better & cheaper elsewhere
Price is a bit high for what you get. Granted its light weight. II just wish it would recline. Plus the straps are always all twisted up.

i LOVE my Maclaren Volo Stroller
i LOVE my Maclaren Volo Stroller. I got it for the lightweight advantage and I also really liked the color. I've had the stroller for almost two years already and my only complaint is that the harness is really hard to adjust, I still havent figured it out. We use this stroller for my Three Year Old so it doesn't matter that the harness itsn't perfect. Great Product

Horrible harness, way overpriced
The harness on our Volo failed, leaving my daughter stuck in the stroller. Of course, this happened when it was freezing cold outside. I ended up having to cut her out of the thing. Dealing with Maclaren customer service to get a replacement harness has been a nightmare. Even on a good day the harness is really difficult to release. Obviously it's designed this way to prevent children from opening it (which is a good thing), but it's often difficult for adults to open it as well. My fingers were bruised from pushing on it so hard trying to get her out the other day. For the price of this thing, it should be better designed and I should not be spending obscene amounts of time getting replacement parts. So now I have a stroller I can't use and no end in sight as to when it will be functional again. Really wish I'd gone with something cheaper.

Maclaren Volo Stroller
I've been looking for a decent priced lightweight stroller for quite some time...and not only does this fit my criteria...it is very attractive...i just with there was more back support for my son. Other than that minor detail it's great...i use it way more than i use my son's stroller with car seat.

Lightweight and great quality
After reading several reviews and researching other similar lightweight strollers, we are very pleased with our decision to purchase the Volo.

Great Stroller for travel or public transportation
If you're looking for a good lightweight compact stroller the Volo is worth considering. This is my workhorse, I've had it for seven years with three kids, and now use two of them with my three year old twins. When they were younger, it was always in the car for use along with an Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining or an Eddie Bauer Harness Buddy, Monkey for quick errands. It's an easy way to avoid using a double stroller. The canopy is larger than many others but you would still need a Protect-a-Bub Single Compact Sunshade, Black . The Volo doesn't recline, the basket is on the small side and you'll need a Maclaren organizer to stash the rain cover. However, it's fantastic for subways and public transportation as it folds super compactly, weighs only 9 lbs, has a shoulder strap, has a great rain cover, and it goes to 55 lbs (my then 5 year old loved it for our trips to NYC). It's not great for uneven surfaces but that's when I just toss it over my shoulder. He's now 7 and still fits, at 50" and 45 lbs (he prefers to walk, this is just a reference for size). On the downside, Maclaren USA recently declared bankruptcy some time back so customer service is a bit of a toss up. I've yet to have a problem with our Volos though. Other options to consider: * Inglesina Trip Stroller - this is the best umbrella stroller I've owned as it has 6" wheels, suspension, a large canopy, deep recline, wheel suspension, waterproof fabric and rain cover, and it's built like a tank -- excellent quality. It folds fairly compactly and has a side carry handle. It weighs 16 lbs but has a 55 lb maximum weight capacity. The 2011 model weighs 14.5 lbs and also has an approved weight of 55 lbs, even though the manual says 40 lbs. Earlier models are lighter (13 lbs?) but have a max allowed weight of 40 lbs. The Trip is far superior to the similar looking Maclaren Quest Stroller which has a more delicate material weather resistant fabric and smaller wheels that won't work well on uneven surfaces. * Aprica Presto Stroller: 14 lbs and a whopping maximum child weight of 70 lbs. Great for sightseeing when your really older kids are tired at the end of the day. It has a good basket and canopy, and it is often at a similar price as the Volo. * Peg-Perego Si Light Weight Stroller- Accepts a car seat, one hand fold, large basket. It's getting a bit into the full size stroller territory. Weight limit is 45 lbs, less that all the others. Expensive and not great for public transportation but still worth a look. Despite its limitations, the Volo still can't be beat is you need a high-quality super lightweight and compact basic stroller. I just bought our second one for use with our toddler twins as many airlines have banned strollers over 20 lbs, eliminating almost all double strollers - two of these are a good substitute. As expected, if you need additional features such as a larger canopy, recline and suspension, expect them to be heavier and more expensive.
