Fantastic speed - works great on Windows 11
Having been upgraded to Vodafone Full Fibre 910 service, I have been installing OM3 Fibre Optic cables in my house to get this amazing speed to the Windows 11 PCs in various rooms. The card was well packaged and installed easily onto my Aorus X670 motherboard. I also bought the 10Gtek SFP+ transceiver from Amazon to plug into the slot on this Network card. It all works amazingly well! I am now typically getting in excess of 900Mbps on my desktop using this 10Gtekcard. See screenshot. Fow the driver installation on Windows 11, there is a video on the Amazon page. It is not the easiest video to follow - the steps happen very quick - however the needed information is there. I used my video player stop button & rewind a lot to understand what to do. But do perservere - it is worth it!!! Since installation, connection is fast and stable. Very Please!!!

Excellent piece of kit!
After a nightmare with Mellanox ConnectX 3 and HP NC552SFP+ cards either not working, incompatible or constantly crashing, I installed this Intel X-520 (82599) based card into my Win11 Gigabyte Z390 system. Finding drivers was a slight mission but once installed, this card worked like a champ. Tested with both DAC SFP+ and OM4 multimode fibre (Using a Mellanox SFP+ transceiver) and it ran consistently - no errors, no disconnections and excellent throughput. Tested with single / contiguous 120Gb files as well as folders containing 100Gb of small (3 & 4Mb) files, I got about 3.5 to 4.5Gbps consistent throughput. Was hoping for a bit more but will next be tweaking stuff like flow control, MTU, Jumbo frames etc. Disk IO is a bottleneck, even using EVO990 Pro NVME drives. I tested direct PC to PC connections using a DAC, then via switch (DAC on PC1, fibre on PC2) using the amazing Sodola 6 port 10Gbe managed switch sold here on Amazon for a ludicrously cheap £65 (as at Aug24). It was OK on crossover but really shone with the SFP switch. Highly recommend this card and really impressed with it. To be fair to Mellanox, their dual SFP+ card is excellent but it seems there's a major compatibility issue between Gigabyte boards (especially Z290/390/490 chipsets) and ConnectX cards. The only time it works is in a 16x PCIe slot. It will NOT work in an 8x slot due to lanes limited to 4. No way I'm dumping my RTX4070 so this 10GTek card came as a huge blessing.

Easy to install, and working once the drivers are installed.
Using this as a 10Gb NIC on a Windows 11 PC. Once physically installed, the device is recognised by Windows. It works out of the box, but only at 1Gb. Download and install the drivers from 10Gtek's website, and it was offering 10Gb after the first reboot. Works well and good value for money.

A good choice with optical transceivers
I bought this adapter a couple of years ago and haven't had to think about it since which is defintely a good thing. I seem to remember having a slight faff getting the driver installed on Windows 11 but, having done so, I inserted a 10Gtek optical transceiver I already had and connected my PC to my Zyxel 10Gb switch with a 10ft length of fibre. It runs cool and, being fanless, is absolutely silent. I have slightly better than 1Gb internet and I get full speeds all of the time. The reason I'm reviewing this now is because I'm thinking about replacing my NAS with a 10Gb-capable model and while reviewing my kit realised I hadn't done so. So, if you have a router or switch with an SFP+ port, this is a good choice if using optical modules. I'd steer clear of copper RJ45-style transceivers since, in my limted experience, these can run blisteringly hot so need to be actively cooled.

Good card.
Works well had to hunt for a driver but other than that it works well.

Easy route to 10G
I've got quite a basic PC but wanted to leverage the 10G capability of my network infrastructure, I had to change my graphics card to free up a PCI slot with enough lanes for this card. After installation (win10) it was recognised straight away, popped in my SFP+ module and I was good to go at 10Gbps! I'm getting transfer speeds of about 5Gbps when running an iperf3 test to my NAS which is great considering my limited hardware.

EOL card.
These cards are not officially supported in Windows 11, there is a work-a-round that installed the windows 10 drivers, these can cause issues in windows 11 if you have secured your systems. The chip appears to be EOL at Intel. The cards look well built and arrived in no fuss packaging but they don't support 5GB or 2.5GB speeds, which I missed, so based on these two elements, am returning.

I combined the 4 1Gb ports on my Synology 2419+ to get 4Gb throughout with an ubiquiti router. I have 12 10Tb disks in raid 5. The speed was a lousy 100Mb/s at best. Now I put this 10Gb X520-DA-1 card in the synology and connected it to an SFP+ port on my switch. Now I get a minimum and stable of 200Mb/s but I think thats the max of the disks combined. I'm very happy because an original card from Synology costs about 270€!!!!

Installed this 10Gtek PCIe network card on Windows 10 and it was up and running in minutes. No reliability or heating issues at all, which is important for my desktop. The card has stayed stable under load and overall has delivered just what I wanted for high-speed networking. Great value and dependable performance.
