Avenir Sewing Llama Unicorn, Mixed Colours

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister (among other gifts!). It might be aimed at children, but my older sister had fun for an hour making it. I’m not 100% convinced a child could do it - there seemed to be a bit of concentration involved, but it provided some entertainment for a little while.The final product is fun - definitely more a product to enjoy whilst making rather than for the final product.

Now this was lovely.My daughter doing this all on her own, even the face and beak she actually sewed perfectly; well almost!. Unfortunately the eyes were missing so I had to embroider some on him.Madame sewed him inside out before turning him the correct way before stuffing and then sewed his bottom-up, all I had to do was sew their feet on him.

I like the idea of giving children something simple that can teach them the basics of sewing, but honestly, you get a bunch of poor quality thread, that keeps getting tangled unless you cut it into smaller bits (no instructions on that). You also get a bunch of cotton-wool and some very flimsy pre-cut felt. That's all. A tenner (some websites are selling it for £15) for things that probably cost 20p.I would have been happy to pay extra for the instructions, of course, but they are very confusing and difficult to follow, unless you already know how to sew (which is obviously not who this is aimed at).My son ended up getting frustrated and asking me for help every few minutes. and some of the instructions really left me scratching my head and I had to reverse-engineer what they meant.Also, there are plenty of things that are not stated (e.g. furry side should be on the outside). The picture instructions don't show that at all, and of course it's obvious if you know what you're doing, but this is aimed at 6 year olds doing it independently. Fail.

Wir haben bereits das Lama, welches meine Tochter (6) mit Freude genäht hat. Sie benötigt noch Hilfe, hat sich aber bereits schon weitere Tiere als nächstes Projekt ausgesucht.

Das ist schon das zweite Set aus dieser Reihe, das wir gekauft haben. Das Tolle daran ist: Das ist etwas, was die Kinder hinterher auch tatsächlich haben möchten und womit gerne gespielt wird. Oft sind Bastelsets ein wenig sinnlos (der Weg ist das Ziel und das Ergebnis wird nie wieder angeguckt).Hier allerdings sind die Kuscheltiere hinterher echt niedlich und werden noch gerne bespielt.Und alles ist so gut vorbereitet, dass man die nervigen Schritte (Zuschneiden...) oder die komplizierteren Dinge (Stichlänge gleichmäßig halten, Teile richtig ausrichten) überspringen kann und sich voll aufs Nähen und Sticken konzentrieren kann.Mit Anleitung von einer erwachsenen Person kann ein motiviertes Kind (in diesem Fall 7 Jahre alt) das schon gut schaffen. Alles Zubehör (außer einer Schere) ist dabei, die Nadel ist aus Plastik und stumpf genug, dass man sich nicht wehtun kann. Die Anleitung ist an einigen Stellen nicht ganz eindeutig, aber wirklich tragisch ist das nicht.Würde ich sofort wieder kaufen, vielleicht gucken wir auch noch ein weiteres Tier aus der Reihe genauer an...

molto divertente e bello

Wir haben es meiner Tochter (5) geschenkt weil sie sich sehr für Handarbeit begeistern kann. Bei den Sternen und Augen des Einhorns habe ich geholfen aber den Rest hat sie in Grossteilen alleine geschafft. Der erste und zweite Weihnachtstag war damit gut ausgefüllt und das Endergebnis ist wirklich zauberhaft und kuschelig weich.

Tolles Geschenk für kleine Handarbeiter.
