2012 release, the first new studio album from the British Metal band since 1990. Together with new vocalist Toby Jepson (Ex-Little Angels), Fast Eddie Clarke (Motorhead) has written some of his strongest songs to date.

FAST EDDIE'S BACK !
THIS BAND HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MANY CHANGES ! Founded by guitar player FAST EDDIE CLARK (MOTORHEAD) bass player PETE WAY (UFO) and drummer Jerry Shirley (HUMBLE PIE) with absolutly incredible vocalist David King rounding out the line up. Fastway faced a lot of challenges right off the bat (to many to mention) Eddie has hung in there though and, it's paying off. This record is really good. If you worried there may be keyboard fills, weak vocals or filler material ? Don't be, this is as good as the first self titled record and "ALL FIRED UP" the second release however, the line up has changed. Eddie has obviously made a conscious effort to do things right here. GREAT VOCALS ! AWESOME GROOVE ! HEAVY ! this album kinda reminds me of JAKE E. LEE"S "RETRACED" only with more production and, a rock feel as opposed to blues.LET'S HAVE ANOTHER EDDIE ! (HEY OLGA'S DOG PUKES THAT WAY)

Surprising Return To Form
After a 22 year absence Fastway makes their return with Eat Dog Eat. OK, it's really Fast Eddie Clarke's return, just under the Fastway banner and musical style. Given the mediocrity of Clarke's 1993 solo album one could have been forgiven for assuming that the new Fastway album would be a disappointment. Or possibly even a disaster. The bargain basement album cover didn't help perception much. But, guess what? Eat Dog Eat is probably Fastway's third best album (after their self titled debut and All Fired Up). It really is a good album. Very good. The album has a vitality and youthful energy that wouldn't be expected from the 60-something Fast Eddie Clarke. The fact that he's got a couple younger guys with him helps, but Eddie's signature riff writing style is clearly on display, so the album belongs to him just as much as new singer/bass player Toby Jepson. Jepson's contributions, however, cannot be undersold. His soulful, powerful vocals are the perfect foil for Eddie's riffs. While his voice is a little deeper than Dave King's, he still has that intangible that King had, that, "Thing," that you can't define but is what makes a good singer great (or, in Jepson's case, very good). The songs range from good to very good, but not one clunker can be found on Eat Dog Eat. This is an album that can be listened to from start to finish without hitting the, "Skip," button on your player. The songs range from slowish grooves to upper mid-tempo tracks, but they all have that power and vitality that makes this album so good.If you ever liked Fastway then this is a Must Buy album. For a more in-depth review of Eat Dog Eat go to vista records dot us and look under Album Reviews. There is a track by track breakdown there.Whether or not you go to read that review just do this - BUY THE ALBUM!!!

Throw another Shovel of Dirt on the 90's!
This is the best record of 1979, yet with the resurgents of "True HEAVY METAL" it sounds fresh and new. I thought Eddie had let the Bastards grid him down, but to the delight of real Metal Heads and the embarasment (I can't spell - and I don't care) of the fake = once again the METAL FIST is raised high and proud! Armed With a new band; and a singer that sounds like a pissed off Myles Goodwin, F.E.C. laid down a great set of GTR drenched hard rock the FASTWAY.If You Loved It Then - Your Sure Gona' Love It Now.P.S. I wish I could hear like I did in 85.JRK

Good but not great
I miss the old singer. Guitars rocked as much as they ever have in the past.

Eat Dog Eat
This is the first Fastway cd I have bought and it hits you right away with a bang. First of all, their isn't much out there these days when it comes to good old fashion hard rock, so I had to go back in time a bit. This cd starts out great with the track Deliver Me, then comes Fade Out and Leave the Light On. A great start. Another favorite of mine is Sick as a Dog which in my opinion is too short. All the tracks have good rhythm and melody and enough catchy tracks to make this a worthwhile buy.

"Dog Eat Dog" is one cool comeback disc from Fastway
With former Little Angels vocalist Toby Jepson ridin' shotgun with Fast Eddie Clarke and drummer Matt E, "Dog Eat Dog" is one cool comeback disc from Fastway. Lead off ass kicker, "Deliver Me" rides a mid-paced groove and a dark edge, that gives way to the equally solid "Fade Out". Greased with swagger, the Led Zeppelin inspired "Dead and Gone" is a tale of two songs, and "Leave the Light On" liberally cops the riff from Ted Nugent's not-so-subtle "Yank Me, Crank Me". The tightly-wound 2012 recording includes the infectious "Sick as a Dog" and the vibrant "Freedom Song". Jepson's vocal performance throughout "Sick As a Dog" is riveting, and the bitchin' track packs an exhaust emitting riff that is the closest Eddie gets to his daze with the mighty Motörhead, on Dog Eat Dog. The spirited "Freedom Song" exudes a liberating feeling that matches the song title. Produced by Jepson, blues rock rules the eleven song disc, that closes with the pairing of "On and On" and "Only if You Want it" from the revamped Fastway.

Finally, a great record from one of my Favs!
Ever since I saw Fastway with Quiet Riot & AC/DC back in '83,I ahve really like them. I have been waiting for this new release ever since I heard about it last year. I was so hoping for a great one. To be honest, Fastway has not had any good new music in quite some time, This new release DELIVERS! There is not one bad song on in the lot. Every track is a great listen. There are definitely hooks to the great 80's stuff with a nice modern edge.
