Classic Ikon 9" Bread Knife

Expensive, but sharp and holds well in your hand. Had one for about 10-12 years. Lesson for longevity is to hand wash. We kept washing it in the dishwasher. Probably not recommended. BUT, even though we washed in the dishwasher over many years it did keep a good edge. We were not be putting the new one in the dishwasher. Did I say it was super sharp? Great for bread - cuts tomatoes like nothing else. Double ceration is incredible

This knife is a beast. The double‑serrated edge bites into crust without crushing the loaf, and the cut feels almost effortless. I used it on a dense einkorn bread and it sliced cleanly with zero tearing. The balance, the handle, the control, everything feels premium. Easily the best bread knife I’ve ever owned.

Wow! I read the reviews and people had great things to say about this knife. But I was overly surprised with it. It is so much sharper than the Zwilling bread knife I have that it is hands down no comparison. My advice....get one!!

Fantastic bread knife. The double serration is great, especially for harder crusts. The knife is extremely comfortable to wield, and has a gorgeous modern design.

Super sharp! Makes cutting homemade bread a breeze! (But be careful- the knife cuts SO easily that it can rip through your fingers as well!)

Granted, this is an expensive knife. And I added another $50 to get is shipped to NZ (shipping and GST) , and I'd do it again if I had to. I already had 3 bread knives of suspect origin. But with the covid lockdown, I upped my game and got back into homemade bread. Getting useable sandwich slices was an issue. With a bamboo guide that I got on Amazon, I am able to turn out lovely sandwiches. My husband is impressed because I like to add a lot of nuts and seeds to my breads, and this knife literally cuts them in half when slicing. The knife doesn't drag on or depress the crusts. Love Wusthof Classic Ikon line. Worth the extra money.

Nice and sharp, way better than the cheapo one I used to have. Like other reviewers noted though, it has to have a thicker handle. It tends to kind of rotate while I cut the bread. But overall, would buy it again.

I received the 20cm version not the 23cm one, really haven't got time to return it so using this instead. it's a good knife.

Best bread knife for slicing crusty bread that has a a soft crumb.
